Modern stylish Devon cottage in Aveton Gifford near Bantham

Tucked away in the centre of Aveton Gifford, a quaint village lying at the head of the River Avon estuary, this lovely stylish cottage provides a perfect base from which to enjoy the nearby sandy beaches of Bantham and Bigbury.

This is a 3 bedroom family home sleeping up to six people with a fully enclosed rear garden and private parking for 2 cars. Superfast Wifi available. Well behaved dogs welcome (maximum of 2, downstairs only).

Upstairs the Master bedroom has a super kingsize bed and en-suite. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has bunk beds. The recently refurbished main bathroom has a bath and walk in shower.

Downstairs you'll find the large comfortable living room complete with Smart TV. a downstairs WC and a stylish, modern kitchen diner with french doors opening out onto the patio with comfy rattan furniture, perfect for al fresco dining. The kitchen is an excellent entertaining space with a dining table seating 6, large island complete with bar stools, comfy sofa, induction hob, oven, american fridge freezer with ice dispenser, washing machine, tumble dryer and a separate wine fridge (wine not included, sorry!)

At the top of the garden is a decked dining area, the perfect spot to enjoy a cold drink and the last of the evening sun. We also have a small children's play area complete with slide & mud kitchen.

Adjacent to the cottage is a gorgeous dog friendly park with a play area and tennis courts. From the cottage it's just a short stroll to the local pub and the community shop is just around the corner, ideal for picking up supplies. Just past the pub, go for a wonder along the picturesque estuary tidal road or on a high tide, paddleboard down the estuary to Bantham. On a low tide you can walk to the locally renowned Oyster Shack for a delicious seafood treat. There are lots of gorgeous countryside and estuary walks in and around the village with breathtaking views.

Just a short drive away you'll find numerous beautiful sandy beaches. The old market town Kingsbridge is a few miles away and has two supermarkets.

Fantastic Break

This is an ideal base to explore the beautiful South Hams. The property itself has everything you would want for a family holiday and was spotlessly clean. It is finished to a high spec and even has a late afternoon sun trap in the back garden. The kitchen in particular is superb and complete with all mod cons. Catherine the owner dealt with every question and request promptly and nothing was a problem from the minute we enquired about her property. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A super house in a quiet village

This house was great for our group size (4 adults, 2 children aged 8 years) and we had a lovely stay in August. It’s in a great and quiet location, next to a stream and close to the children’s play park. The village is very small with just one pub and a shop open limited hours, but it’s well situated to drive to all the best beaches and other attractions in the area. The house itself is well equipped, with comfortable beds, a brand new family bathroom, modern decor and a stunning kitchen area to cook and hang out in. Our kids loved the trampoline, bunk beds and the spinning chair in the lounge. We loved being able to park and unload all our beach stuff right outside the front door. The owner was extremely helpful in the run up to our week answering any Q’s I had. Would recommend this property and the area.

Lovely Devon holiday

Lovely, well equipped property in Aveton Gifford, which is close to Salcombe and several great beaches. The main bathroom is great, and the kitchen excellent. It makes a great base to explore the area and the hosts are very responsive.

Fabulous house & location

Very modern fixtures and fittings, very cosy yet very modern. Lovely touches with the decor so you have everything you need. Everything you could need for a fabulous stay in a beautiful area. Lovely enclosed garden area, perfect for enjoying the evening sunshine. Very quiet area. Lovely walks from the property & shirt drives to various beaches & coastal paths.

Great place to explore the South Hams

Location is great- tucked away in village, near a playpark and shop. Easy access to visit south hams coast from Bantham round to Dartmouth. Property was exactly as described. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen had a good stock of the required pans, utensils etc. Plus basic cooking items including a well stocked spice/hern cupboard! We would recommend.

Absolutley Amazing

I have to say, that it was the Best holiday property we have ever stayed in. We booked our very first holiday with our baby granddaughter, son & daughter in law, and we could not fault this wonderful house. On arrival, after a very long drive, we thoroughly enjoyed the chilled Prosseco & Devon Fudge (lovely touch)!! There was milk in the fridge, even tea, coffee and sugar which was so nice. The house was spotless, even hand sanatiser at the entrance! Loved the Ice machine, crushed or cubes. My absolute favourite was the double spin chair, which our granddaughter would giggle when I sat her on my lap and spun around on, we had to take turns in sitting on it!! Everything was just perfect! Would definitly recommend staying at this lovely house, which made our holiday so very relaxing and really enjoyable in beautiful Devon!!

We really enjoyed a week here and thought the property was lovely, there was everything that we needed on the property and everything worked well. Aveton Gifford is a great place to explore the South Hams area from. The park has just been renewed and was well received by the children.

Beautiful

What can we say about this amazing property. As well as being in a lovely location, it's finished to an amazingly high standard. When you walk into a property and say to your partner "I want this house", you know you are staying somewhere special. It's a perfect place to stay with a family such as us. Ideally located just 11 mins from the beautiful beaches of Devon. The owners left local fudge and a bottle prosecco for our arrival. A very classy touch. I highly recommend paying a visit to this lovely part of England and staying in this exceptional house.
