Family of 4 (2 adults & 2 adult kids) stayed for a week just before Christmas and had a wonderful time. The villa has everything you would ever need and is beautifully decorated. It’s a 10-minute walk into Speightstown in a lovely neighbourhood with lovely neighbours.
Communication with the owners and the local management team was first class. We all had a wonderful week in Carizma and would highly recommend.

Thankyou Jillian for your thoughtful review. We are glad you had a lovely stay in Carizma.
My spouse and I were there for 7 days from 6/27-7/5. The house was very comfortable and we had a great stay in spite of Hurricane Beryl. Property manager, Anita checked in to make sure we were ok. The location was perfect - we were close to the beach, Speightstown and the main road to allow for easy travel around the island. Our only disappointment was that there was no dryer as previously listed, I noticed the listing has since been edited to indicate there is a drying rack, not an actual dryer.
I’ve fallen in love with this little gem and will definitely return. The best veranda on the street 🥰 with the most comfortable chairs ever! Safe and friendly neighbourhood. A short walk to beautiful Heywood's beach and access to local restaurants and bars including Port St Charles. Close to local buses. Beautifully decorated and perfectly laid out with all I needed for home meals. 10/10 including communications with Ruth & Rob and Angela the local manger. So good I extended my stay!

Thankyou Sylvia for your wonderful review. It has been a pleasure having you stay at Carizma and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Definitely a step above the rest! The little extra touches made the difference. Having bread, butter, a few beverages available upon our arrival. Even bus fare in a jar (Although we didn't need it). Soap powder to do a wash! Lots of towels and we got clean sheets in the midst of our stay! The property is immaculate and clean and offers privacy as you lounge on the verandah with some wonderful comfy rocking lounge chairs. There was also a table out in the verandah for morning breakfast or evening dinners. The property manager was helpful, responsive but definitely not intrusive. There were books if you wanted to read and a folder with instructions on how to use the electronics - They even had a blender! Wahoo for me as I loved making smoothies with the local fruit. There was also a list of restaurants and things to do around the Island! It will be hard for us to stay anywhere else on the island! This is definitely our second home, if its available whenever we return!

Everything we needed
My wife and I had a very pleasant short stay here. House was really clean and well-stocked, so we felt at home cooking meals. Made the easy 15 minute walk to Speightstown several times where we enjoyed several cool spots and met a lot of friendly Bajans and tourists. We learned that it's best to get into town before 8pm if trying to find dinner, at least in spring time. Some of our friends stayed over at Port St. Charles which was about a 12 minute walk away, and another 10 minutes from there over to our friends at Port Ferdinand. The walk-ability to all those locations was key for us because getting a taxi can be tricky.
Anita and her husband were lovely to meet and made us feel comfortable as soon as we showed up. I'd definitely stay here again if I make it back to the island.
This property is clean and modern, comfortable and secure. The neighborhood is quiet and it's a short walk to the beach and into Speightstown. I can't say enough good things about it. I did not choose to rent a car but renting one would obviously allow one to see more of the island. However there are buses and lots of taxis for hire. I was fortunate to make a local friend who had a car and we were therefore easily able to get around. If you put any effort into making local friends you certainly will. If you love heat and sunshine and gorgeous beaches in abundance you will love this spot. The owners and their property managers were very accessable and helpful with all of my questions.

Thank you for your review Matthew. We hope you have continued to enjoy your travels to exotic places and thank you again for choosing Carizma for your stay in Barbados.
We had a very relaxing time at Carizma Villa. The owner Ruth was a great help before travel and property manager Anita was helpful when we were there.
It’s a lovely little villa. Well equipped. Good quality towels (plenty of them) and bed linen. Enjoyed our breakfast every day on the veranda accompanied by two cheeky little sparrows!
We walked to Heywoods Beach which we love and only took 10 mins - you can get there even quicker but we like the very end of the beach near Port St Charles. Speightstown and the bus terminal only 10 mins walk also.
The welcome pack was fab and very helpful when arriving late at night as we did. There are beach chairs and cool boxes/freezer packs etc which were very useful.
Felt safe in a very quiet neighbourhood apart from a neighbour’s noisy dog early in the morning some days.
I would recommend the villa as a good base for holidaying in Barbados. 😊

May visit to Carizma
Well It is July 2010, and I am finally getting time to write our review on Carizma. Oh how I wish we were back there. Spent a fabulous week in May withour daughter and our new son-in-law. It was everything and more than the pictures show. We loved Speightstown and our walk to the bakery, Fishermans Pub and our dinner by the ocean at one of the restaurants. Our favourite beach was Heywoods where there was no more than ten people there at a time!!We took the cooler from the villa with sandwiches water beer and fruit and enjoyed the ocean which was very calm.We went on a catamaran trip Cool Runnings,it was the best one ever.Excellent snorkelling food and staff and of course swimming with the turtles.Took the local bus to Bridgetown and St lawrence gap lots of fun. Holetown is terrific we had a fabulous dinner at the Beach Club the food was amazing and not too expensive. The setting was amazing The best times were when we got " Home " to Carizma put on the Barbeque played poker which I had never played .Relaxed in the ambiance with the candles and the ipod for our own music. We loved the outdoor shower. Anita and Dave are wonderful and were great with anything we needed to know.I could go on and on .The villa is spotless, everything we needed and more. We did not want to leave and hopefully will return again to the same spot . Barbados and the people are wonderfull we felt like we belonged there for a short while.Alvin thanks to you for your great taxi service and history of the island at the same time!! 5 Months of Comfort & Joy
Sadly, my wife and I are wrapping up a 5-month stay in Carizma during which we've come to enjoy the villa, its amenities, location, and Barbados more with each passing week. We've explored much of the island and find it to be stunningly beautiful and incredibly interesting. We've walked miles, ridden the bus, hired a taxi, and occasionally rented a car all with great success and little difficulty. Barbados is definitely a top-of-list Caribbean destination because it's so darned interesting and convenient – the history, the multitude of activities and points of interest, ATM access & credit card acceptance, the language, the shopping, transportation, access to amenities, and the cordial, gracious people. Speightstown and Carizma are a great choice for travelers seeking these best features of Barbados: an upscale neighborhood and authentic Bajan village full of friendly people away from the south-island jam and access to one of the best low-traffic, calm-water beaches on the island at Port St. Charles. Carizma gives us the independence of a single-family home yet full and easy access to all parts of the island. We walk to collect our groceries, stroll the beaches, and watch the killer sunsets. From the north, Holetown is an easy $2BBD, no-brainer bus ride to and from. More on the villa: The bedding is top notch, the weekly maid service a real treat, the bed linens are cleaned and pressed, towels are provided and laundered – and floors mopped [nice!]. The furniture in the villa is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The bath is newly built (actually the entire villa is recent construction) all in outstanding travertine tile including the entire shower surround. The tile is carried throughout the villa on the floors and very nice to walk on and keep clean. The kitchen cabinetry is beautiful and the appliances all work very well. We've kept the two sets of large swing-out double doors open during most of our stay to catch the Bajan breezes and had to resort to a/c only occasionally in the evenings back in November and early December. And blessedly – very few bugs! Dave and Anita are wonderful people who work hard to make things right and truly care about their guests. You can't go wrong with the these trustworthy hosts who have become very special to us. I mean, after 5 months, we're experts on the subject, right? It will be hard to leave.
We went to Barbados to get married, and we stayed here for 2 weeks. The property looks exactly as it did in the pictures provided, and is situated in a nice quiet area. We were greeted by the nephew of the property manager nephew, who gave us a quick tour. They even provided milk, bread, eggs, butter, and 2 beers! We really appreciated that since we were extremely tired from our flight! The day we got married and got back to the house, we were welcomed with a card and a bottle of champagne that the property manager left for us to celebrate. The reason why I only gave 4 overall stars was because the kitchen sink wasn’t draining and the cleaning woman didn’t do a gear job cleaning!
Absolutely brilliant, easy to get to, lovely and airy, bright and cheerful,it was delightful.
Anita and Dave were great.
The neighbourhood is super, and the neighbours next door are really lovely.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Carizma and really appreciate the lovely comments in your review.
This was our 8th visit to beautiful Barbados and one of the most relaxing. Carizma is just a 10 minute stroll to a gorgeous beach and into Speightstown where there are excellent places to eat to suit all budgets and a supermarket. The villa has been tastefully decorated throughout and equipped to a high standard. The owners are a breath of fresh air, they don’t just take your money, they really care and want you to have a good holiday and enjoy the island. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!!
We had a wonderful 7 nights at Carizma and would go back in a heartbeat. This was our 10th trip to Barbados in the last 7 years and this one was equally as enjoyable as the previous 9.
Anita and Dave were fantastic hosts and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Communications from the point of pre-booking through to the one or two little issues (which were very minor but resolved super speedily) was second to none.
We have already threatened to re-book straight away!
Thanks Anita and Dave and hope to see you again very soon!

Two weeks in Villa Carizma
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Carizma. The large open plan living space/kitchen was very comfortable in the evenings. The outside veranda was lovely for eating and relaxing in the warm climate.
The large double bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable. We used the second bedroom for storage.
We rented a small car which enabled us to go to some good snorkelling beaches and to see parts of the island which were not easily accessible by public transport. The villa is at the northern end of the island and it seems quite a long way on the pot hole ridden roads to, say, Bridgetown. We used the car to get to the local beaches although they are less than 1 km away and would be easy for younger, more mobile people to walk to.
We drove to Carlisle Bay near Bridgetown to go snorkelling to see the wrecks and all the fish and the turtles. We liked Heywoods Beach too which was very close to the villa. We found it quiet and good for snorkelling at the reef just off shore.
We always felt safe at the villa. Quite a number of the local residents walked by but although we could see them they could not see us thanks to the pretty hedge. They were usually quiet. The road is narrow and there were a number of vehicles each day but you could not say it was busy. We did like hearing the ice cream van but we did not buy any!
We went to the Port Charles Yacht Club, just to look at the lovely Slipstream yacht, and at the restaurant but we did not eat there although the menu looked fine. We went to Carizma on the Hill on two Saturdays where we had the BBQ. We really liked it there. We also ate at Just Grillin at Holetown (OK), BBQ Barn at Chefette at Warrens (not so good this time) and other places.
The villa was mainly well equipped but there were a couple of things in the crockery department that needed attention. The washing machine was very useful but we needed more washing line space.
Overall we had a good time at Villa Carizma. Thankyou Anita and Dave.

The house is spotless well equipped and has a open breezy atmosphere. The outdoor covered porch is perfect and the neighbourhood is friendly and safe. It’s a quick walk to town and the beaches. We have been twice and I’m sure we will be back in the future.

Great place
My wife and I had a great time staying at Carizma for 5 weeks. A small house but which suited the two of us. A nice veranda to sit out on and a drive to park the hire car that we had for the duration*. Various local cats would come and visit us, with one sleeping on one of the veranda chairs during the night. The location was excellent being within walking distance of Speightstown.
The owners, Anita and Dave, responded quickly to any problems or requests that we had. As we experienced previously on Barbados, strimming and leaf blowing are very popular and often start around 6.30am ! Wherever you are, there are also barking dogs. The local dogs tended to have a barking match around dusk but on the whole weren't too bad.
We became regulars at the Orange Street Grocery café in Speightstown for coffee and cold drinks in the mornings and late afternoons. We also went to Jumas restaurant and bar on a few occasions as they do nice cocktails but the service is variable from good to non-existent!
We'd been to Barbados the previous year and experienced the buses which are initially great fun and good value but the novelty wears off after a while and a car provides greater flexibility. We tended to shop for food at Massy's in Holetown which had a better range than Jordans. We also went a few times to eat at Just Grillin in Holetown where the food was great and good value. One of the best restaurants on the island is Chill & Breeze, Barclays Park on the east coast. The food is delicious and their rum punches are to die for!.
We went all over the island but the best beach for us was Cobblers Cove which is just a walk from Jordans car park in Speightstown. Never that busy and often quite empty. A fabulous beach and great for swimming and snorkelling.
The sun and the sea (& cocktails) are what it's all about. Wonderful!
* We hired the car from Corbyns which provided a great service (thanks for the recommendation Anita). They picked us up from the airport which worked well, as finding the way and the house after dark would have been a challenge!
