About this property

Scandinavian style hideaway with log burner adjacent to the Peak District.

New to the holiday letting market this year, the property is in a delightful and secluded position on the south facing side of Darley Hillside with views over the valley.
The main living area is on the upper floor, accessed directly from the driveway and car-port via a hallway leading to the master bedroom and ensuite; living room with open log fire, dining area and internal balcony access to 2-storey atrium complete with spiral staircase; cloakroom; toilet, and kitchen with tree top external terrace. Main staircase leads down to utility room and access to the main external terrace via the ground floor of the atrium.
The house is set within approximately 1 acre of woodland including the remains of a stone-built barn that now forms a sheltered lower-level terrace with table, seating and chiminea.
Originally built to a high specification the property has recently been further improved with a new hot water and Hive controlled heating system. This together with the unique open log burning fire and unlimited supply of seasoned firewood will ensure guests will enjoy a warm and cozy stay during the cooler months of the year.
Located close to the edge of the Peak District National Park, there are many varied walking routes close by and the Chatsworth Estate and House is only 15 mins away by car.
Although a large 4-bedroom house, it is currently configured for couples only with 3 of the bedrooms and a bathroom currently locked off at one end of the ground floor.

Fantastic property!!

Had a wonderful long weekend in this lovely property. Massive for a couple and clean with everything you’d want for a great holiday. Feels like you’re in a wood but still close to a village. Decorated in a 70’s chalet style but doesn’t feel dated. The atrium warmed up in a few hours of sun in late October. Walks from the property and recommend trying to walk alongside the derwent from the village to the peak shopping village as part of a walk.

Saunters Nook

Saunters Nook is really quite unique. We knew it would be stunning from the description, but the reality was even better. There are gorgeous views from every window and the house is exceptionally spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the fire most nights - despite the weather being mild - and there’s an endless supply of wood. The welcome package was thoughtful and much appreciated. There are lovely walks from the house and Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a very short drive away. Saunters really is something special!

A modern house which is very close to the Peak District.

Modern detached home with very good facilities and is actually close to the photos and description, not always the case. Very large for a couple. We enjoyed breakfast on the kitchen balcony but garden is on a steep hillside and therefore not that accessible. Nice large bathroom with both walk in shower and bath.
