Cosy cottage in a beautiful location

We loved staying in this cottage which met our needs perfectly. We stayed over Christmas and used this as a base to visit family. We enjoyed several walks from Over Haddon to Bakewell and Lathkill dale.

Super cottage in lovely village

Ideal cosy central base for exploring the Peaks. Had everything we required and the bonus of being in a quiet, cute village, which has great views of Lathkil dale and beyond. Excellent walks from the door and well purposed for hiking with the dog.

Perfect location and stay.

We spent a cold and wet weekend in the Peak District but, fortunately, the cottage had everything we needed and was lovely and warm after a cold walk.Lots of walks nearby and the walk from Bakewell to Chatsworth and back was lovely, despite the mud. Bakewell tart also a must. Would definitely stay at the cottage again. My only negative point was the difficulty of negotiating a wet and muddy dog with three wet and muddy adults in the small entrance hallway! A minor point when, over all, the cottage was perfect for our needs.

5 star gem of a cottage

If we could give this cottage more than 5 stars we would, What a great place a real gem so pleased we found it The decor is fantastic, clean and welcoming a home from home couldn't wish for anymore, the attention to detail and our welcome was wonderful. The village is Lovely , great location and interesting places to visit all within a short drive. Perfect country cottage

Sadies Croft was everything we were looking for for our short country break with our dogs. Set in the beautiful, peaceful village of Over Haddon, the cottage is beautiful, done to an extreamly high standard but also very comfortable, a real home from home. The gas log burner is perfect to warm up your feet after a long walk along Lathkill Dale, if you have dogs or not this is a must, the walk is stunning! The cottage was very safe and secure for our little dogs, they were more than safe in the enclosed walled garden at the back of the cottage. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the cottage had little extra touches that made it special, couldn't of asked for anymore. We have recommended the cottage to our friends and family, and are already planning to visit again next summer.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location

We've just returned from our 5th stay in this wonderful cottage. The house itself is beautifully furnished and always clean and tidy. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We've taken our 2 cocker spaniels on each trip - the layout of the cottage and the enclosed garden make it an ideal setup if you've got dogs. Overhaddon is a great location - there's a friendly (and dog-friendly!) pub with amazing views and plenty of good walks down to Lathkill Dale and the surrounding area. Bakewell is only a short distance away - here you'll find plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Trying a Bakewell Pudding is a must! If you don't want to drive (or walk) down to Bakewell, there's a bus stop a few doors away from the cottage with a regular service. Overall, this is definitely a property that I'd recommend to anybody. I'm already looking forward to our next trip.

This property was perfectly located for sightseeing in the region. We did Nottingham, York, and a bunch of beautiful things in between. The proximity to Chatsworth, Bakewell, Haddon Hall and other more local sights meant it was one of our few trips where we were able to have very short drives to very majestic places many days. Clean, quiet, tasteful, and comfortable, the property was excellent. It had ample parking that was easily accessible. The kitchen had every tool we needed. The town is peaceful with beautiful views and plenty of hiking and biking trails. It was one of few properties we've been to that never once lost wifi, ran out of hot water, or left us confused as to how to work an appliance. You really can't ask for more than that. Thank you for the wonderful week!

The cottage is in a really lovely location. Cows are just a 10min walk down the road and sheep can be seen from afar. Kitchen had all the amenities to cook and we went to the nearby Chatsworth Farm shop which was a 10min drive and full of local produce.

Beautiful cottage

Had a great stay for my husbands 50th, the host put banners up, and a bottle of Prosecco.The cottage was lovely and well equipped, had everything we needed! Weather was amazing so we did lots of walking with our doggie. Great position for loads of different walks from your doorstep. Local pub is ok, we also stopped at a few on our walks. Would highly recommend.

Our cottage is set in a small village with a lovely dining pub and easy access to Bakewell which has all your day to day needs, perfect for a stroll around the unique shops and spend some time in the lovely tea rooms.

Walking in Lathkill Dale is a delight as is The Monsal Trail great bike riding,Horse riding, rock climbing and the Blue John Caverns all close by, and a walk in Chatsworth Park is a must.
