Beautiful rustic getaway setting in the Black Hills. Listening to the wind in the trees while sitting outside and reading. Close to Custer and National Monuments. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat or central location to explore the Black Hills.

Charming and comfortable

A very cool and surprisingly spacious cabin in a quiet, somewhat remote area that's still very close to Custer and everything else in the area.

This cozy and historic CCC cabin is a step back in time but with easy access to the parks around Custer. It even adds to the experience to travel down a dirt road to get to it (well maintained county road). Wonderful host (Teresa) and comfortable rustic living. A highlight of our vacation in the Dakotas.

Loved our stay!!

We had a wonderful time at this property!! It was a perfect location for us to start from to visit sights in the area. The cabin was very clean and so incredibly peaceful and quiet at night!! Our kids loved watching the bunnies play in the yard and really enjoyed the ‘kids’ bedroom! Everything was clean, communication was smooth and easy, we would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area!!

Beautiful Historic Cabin in Peaceful Custer

Amazing historic cabin nestled in the pines on a picturesque property. After visiting and fishing the beautiful areas of Custer, Hill City, and Keystone, we would return to the peacefullness of the cabin. We are so happy we decided to stay at Pine Crestr Cabin to celebrate our 27 yr. anniversary!

Great family reunion place

This was perfect for our family. We rented both cabins and enjoyed sitting outside and evening fires. It was a little farther off the road than we anticipated and took over 10 minutes to get to highway but once there easy access to all of black hills.

Cute cabin

Had everything we needed for a 1 week stay. We were on motorcycles, so FYI for others on bikes, its a 4.5 mile gravel road. Its packed gravel and we were able to go 30+mph on it. Very quiet, peaceful location. Would stay again.

Second time we've stayed here

We stayed in this cabin 10 years ago and have such fond memories of that vacation that we came back. It was just as wonderful as we remembered. Truly one of the loveliest places we've stayed. The cabin is very comfortable and the area is gorgeous. Lots to do in South Dakota. Communication with the host was great and the whole process was easy.

Perfect!

We stayed here for three nights to celebrate my 40th birthday. Tucked back in the mountains, it was everything I wanted with mornings drinking coffee listening to the elk bugling, and evenings by the wood-burning fireplace.

Custer Cabins Great Location

Great location in country side relatively close to many Black Hills attractions. Fire pit is not level and therefore dicey. Never ending parade of moths inside the house. Host is responsive and helpful.

Response from VrboOwner on 14 July 2023
Sorry Grant about moths. When you rent a cabin in the woods the chances of nature happening are fairly good. They were even in our house in town this spring and summer. We do not use pesticides due to all the wildlife that live in the woods. The fire pit has never had any complaints, sorry. Many nice vacation homes in town also!🙂

Time in Custer

We had a great time at the Pine Crest cabin. Clean, comfortable, all the amenities for a great stay. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings, listening to the cattle, and the bunnies were there to greet us each morning. Great hosts. Couldn’t ask for a better stay. Thanks, Teresa.

Father-Son trip

I was looking for a place to disconnect, unwind and take in nature while spending time with my Father and Son. This place is as advertised. The charm of the cabin is even better in person. Peaceful surroundings but close to both Hill City and Custer. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a similar setting.
