A private paved uphill driveway gets you to the cabin, and from there, it is approximately 20 steps up to the deck and entrance of the home. The large, sunny deck looks out over the Stanislaus National Forest and allows plenty of room for everyone to soak up the sun. The outdoor dining table is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Enjoy the new large fire pit table for some quiet evening relaxation. Inside, the open living/dining/kitchen with vaulted ceilings and expansive windows is a great place to hang out and relax after a day of exploring. A propane fireplace heats the cabin up quickly in the winter months. New air conditioning helps to cool off hot summer days. The dining table seats 6, and a breakfast bar with 3 stools provides additional seating. The efficient, open layout allows views of the living/dining area and deck. With a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and garbage compactor, the kitchen is equipped with all the conveniences. On the main floor, two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed. One full bathroom is on the main floor with a shower/tub combo. Upstairs, a large vaulted-ceiling bedroom has room for all the kids, with two twin beds and two double beds, sleeping a total of 6 upstairs (this is a large bedroom with a door - see photos). The upstairs bathroom has a toilet, shower, and washer/dryer.

Perfect place to stay!

My friend and I stayed at the home for our annual fishing trip. We have been coming up for many years and were looking for a new place to reside that was comfortable and near lakes and streams. This was a great find! It was very clean and had all the amenities we were looking for. Susan is a great host and were looking forward to returning next year.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, secluded cabin in the mountains. Everything is well-appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, and lots of games, books and DVDs to keep everyone busy. This was a great spot for our family, traveling with kids and grandparents. The upstairs loft gives the kids some space away and it’s a quick drive to the lake and other outdoor activities. We are so grateful to be able to stay at this cabin again and hope to return next year!

The cabin is exactly as described. It was in a wonderful location, close enough to everything, without being right in the middle of it all. Gorgeous cabin, well-maintained

We had such a wonderful stay! The cabin is in a great location with breathtaking views. It’s at the end of a quiet street, where my 4 year old enjoyed riding his bike safely. Location is also close to the lake, gas, market, restaurant. The cabin itself is so well-maintained and welcoming. The hosts were responsive to our questions. Three rooms were perfect for our group. The air conditioning and fans were helpful to keep the cabin cool for the summer heat. We’ve stayed at a few cabins in the area and this one was by far the best. We’re planning to return!

Beautiful Home with Outstanding View!

We only had an opportunity to stay a few nights, but it was well worth it. This beautiful home is in a great location with breathtaking views. We made multiple trips to Twain Harte and Pinecrest to enjoy a game of golf, kayak, and hike around the lake. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to make a home-cooked meal. Also, the linens and bedding were of high quality. The air conditioning and fans were helpful to keep the cabin cool since the upstairs gets pretty warm. We’ve stayed at a few cabins in the area and this one was by far the best. Highly recommend!

Looking for a View?

We booked this VRBO because it promised a view (accurate photo on the VRBO site). This renovated vacation home with an extensive porch is well laid out and well-stocked with kitchen/barbecuing equipment, games, and CD's for evenings -- and, and in a location near to mountain attractions which can be enjoyed by families (notably Pinecrest), and by couples, old and young. As nature lovers, we visited riverside campgrounds nearby for picnics and hikes, as well as taking a scenic drive up and over historic Sonora Pass. One morning we watched a deer and her yearling fawns walk through the property.

Perfect place for a family vacation!

This cabin was located at the very end of a quiet neighborhood. Has plenty of space for kids to play and a chest full of games and different movies for the family. Kid friendly house. The stairs were perfect for my toddler. There's even a shield at the top railing for safety. We were hoping for some snow, but the kids didn't mind because there was plenty to do at the cabin. The time went by so fast! It was perfect place to relax outdoors with a beautiful scenery. Cleaning crew forgot to leave some trash compactor bags, but Susan responded so quickly and helped us out. I would definitely stay here again!

Great deck with great views. Some part was always in the shade. Space within the house was ample for 6 adults. We had unfortunate weather in that it was very hot and did not cool down at night. The fans in the downstairs bedrooms were not able to cool the rooms down. The living room area was fine, as was the upstairs bedroom with the AC unit. The couch was a nice size, but was a little tired. Would stay here again, location was good for the lake, hiking and Murphys and Sonora.

Nice Property in the Strawberry Area

This cabin is in Cold Springs, which very close to Strawberry and Pinecrest Lake. The cabin is just as described, was very clean and well maintained, and has a nice open feel to it. The decking is very big, so you can always find sun or shade if you need it, and the view is great. There is a great DVD collection in the cabin. Having internet/WiFi is nice; it is satellite based which is not like at home, but appreciated nonetheless. A note of interest ... there is plenty of parking after going up the narrow uphill driveway, but no way to turn around unless your vehicle has a really short turning radius. So plan on backing down the hill (about 60ft) every time you go out.

Beautiful Getaway Home

We've stayed at numerous houses in this subdivision in the past, and this is definitely our favorite. I don't want to stay anywhere else in the future. The views from the deck are fantastic. Being at the end of a cul-de-sac, the house is very private and quiet. Everything about the house is comfortable, including the living room setup and the bed. The AC mini-split kept us cool at the tail end of a massive heat wave and warm (along with the Jotul stove) during the late summer rain storm just days later. One warning: there are 20+ steps to get from the driveway into the house. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you or anyone in your party has mobility issues or difficulty with steps (such as knee replacement), this may be an issue. Susan is great to work with and was very helpful with weather-related suggestions during our stay. Our best visit to Pinecrest yet!

Nice property, great owner.

We have stayed at this property before, and Susan made this an easy and enjoyable visit. The Peter Pam neighborhood is just about perfect for being in the mountains close to Pinecrest, Strawberry, and Dardanelle, while close enough to Sonora to enjoy the likes of the Columbia soap store. She has made some recent upgrades, especially the downstairs AC, and the place is spotless as usual. Thanks Susan for a nice vacation home.

Ski week base camp

We had a great time here for a trip to the snow. It snowed while we were here and the driveway was fun for sledding. Note that once it snowed the driveway was too steep to drive up in our van, but parking on the street was easy.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday here! The cabin was cozy and clean and the view was stunning. We especially enjoyed the loft upstairs with multiple beds- perfect for kids. We will definitely be staying here again!

Great Summer Getaway

We wanted to spend some time around Pinecrest Lake. Had come across this listing and decided to give it a shot. We were pleased with our stay. I told my kids that there was no Wi-Fi so that gave us a chance to play board games and corn hole out on the deck. If you are looking to stay in the cabin during the day in the summer time, be prepared for the heat. It gets very hot inside due to big windows facing the sun. Maybe some inside shades would help. They supplied fans and a window a/c for the upstairs loft. It cooled off very well at night time. The beds and couch were very comfortable. The cabin was as advertised and the owner was on top of things. I don't think you would be disappointed in this rental....

Beautiful and cozy mountain getaway

We had a beautiful stay at Susan’s mountain home. The house was very clean, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. It was a perfect layout for our family of 6, which included my elderly parents. While there are some steps to get into the house, the two bedrooms on the main floor were so convenient for them to use, right next to the main bathroom. My kids were overjoyed to see stuffed animals welcoming them to the loft bedroom upstairs, very nice touch. :) The wifi being limited is great if you’re looking to digitally detox. We have T-mobile as our cellular carrier and there is no reception in the area. It was a challenge for our family, but that’s due to our habits and expectations. Susan was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the trip and afterwards as well. Great host!

Thank you for taking a look at our cabin. I'm a full-time San Francisco Bay Area Realtor, and I've spent the past 35 years enjoying summers in the Sierras. My extended family often vacations as a group, hiking, boating, fishing and taking day trips to the surrounding sights. We really enjoy the uncrowded, relaxed and hassle free pace of this part of the Sierras. Quite simply, I love coming here to slow down and clear my head. I do my best thinking when I am here.

Why they chose this property

Tinkerbell Ridge is located on the edge of the Stanislaus National Forest. That beautiful forest view to the southwest that you see from the deck is the Stanislaus. We rented this cabin for 17+ years and in 2016 had the opportunity to purchase it from the previous owner. We dreamed of buying this property:
it is private and quiet, as it is on a little knoll on a cul-de-sac. It gets all day sun and a view, two qualities that are important to my family, and which are hard to find. It's been extensively remodeled, well-maintained and it's clean as a whistle. It has 3 huge deck spaces, and so the cabin "lives" large. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do, and will come back regularly.
