Disappointed with the extra fees

First of the home was beautiful, check in was easy, and even finding was nice. We didn't check in to late due to car problems. It was 104 in Sonora and the high 90's in Strawberry. I checked in and couldn't get in the house upstairs because the key got stuck. My daughter has an infant that was not on my reservations and my husband and I brought our two 9 year old granddaughters. Vrbo contacted me

The pros:The location is good, very close by to the Dodge Ridge ski resort. The house itself is clean and spacious.The cons:The host provides only "basic soaps", which we didn't realize does NOT include shampoo or conditioner. So we had none to wash our hair (only a bar of soap is provided for body). There was no cooking oil or butter. The check and check out instructions are involved and pretty inconvenient:- we are not allowed to leave any dishes in the dishwasher (not even clean ones, so we can't load the dishwasher and run it when we leave, need to hand wash ant dirty dishes before leaving)- we are required to take all our trash with us, host said they will charge 25/bag left behind -- this is ridiculous that we are expected to drive off with our trash in our car. It's a 3hr drive back home and we have a toddler, which means trying around with trash bags full of diapers - we were required to turn off the water flush water out of all faucets toilets, and pour anti-freeze down all the drains...The host was super unresponsive to my messages, didn't answer any of my questions (including when I asked if there was a dumpster or anywhere closer to the home to take the trash or if the warm weather could exempt us from doing all the water work...). I also alerted them to the water pressure being low in the kitchen and no hot water from kitchen sink, but they were unresponsive.

Went for a three day snow trip.

Our family went up for the Martin Luther Weekend. We will deffinately go again. We are a family of 7. The house was clean and ahd everything we needed. The back of the house has great hills to sled down! There are several TV's with cable. The living room looks out to the backside. The moon at night reflected off of the snowy hills and trees behind. There is a house on each side and houses across the street but nothing behind the house. Start up is relatively easy. The owners are very nice.

Great Family Cabin!

We stayed here about two years ago during the winter with two other families. Our kids LOVED the loft upstairs. I can't remember how many beds it had, but I do remember all the kids hanging out there the entire time we were indoors. The living room had not only a spectacular view, but was also perfect for watching the kids play in a private yard full of snow. We found plenty of sledding area in the back which kept the kids busy without having to drive to any particular spot. We had a wonderful snowball fight in the backyard with plenty of hiding spots and adventure. The rest of the house was spacious, clean, well stocked and roomy. It's very close the the market which is great for the many runs we had to do. We've been coming to Strawberry for summer and winter vacations for the last 5 years. I am hoping to schedule another family trip there this winter. I'm glad I found this cabin again.
