Overlooks orchard, parking, private garden area. Towels and bed linen are provided.
The Cottages have been converted from an L-shaped stone barn and a linhay. Every effort has been made to retain the character and atmosphere of the original building whilst providing every comfort and convenience.

3 of the cottages have a sitting room, dining area, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath and shower, Apple cottage has a shower in a wet room and only one bedroom. The kitchens are well equipped with washing machines and microwave ovens. Bed linen and towels are provided.

There is an organic cider apple orchard with a play area for children, also a wild meadow where wild birds and butterflies abound in the spring and summer. A 19 acre field with an ancient copse and stream allows space for exploring, walking dogs, or just relaxing and appreciating the views. Ducks swim in the old cart wash and chickens free range; pet goats, donkeys and pigs are either in the barns or the orchard.

The small town of Chudleigh is 1 mile away and has all necessary facilities. Exeter and Plymouth are a short drive, and we are ideally situated for visiting North and South Devon, and Cornwall. Dartmoor National Park is 2 miles away, and the beaches of Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torbay are all a short drive away. Off road car parking facilities are provided. Well behaved dogs welcome.

A friendly, welcoming, comfortable break
We have stayed in all the cottages at Coombeshead over several years, but Swallow Cottage is the biggest and is really comfortable for a family holiday. We stayed for a week and, as always, were welcomed and made to feel at home by Julie and Peter. Coombeshead is a great base for exploring as it is close to major routeways, yet feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. It has a little bit of something for everyone, regardless of age and requirements.

Comfortable and spacious cottage in friendly surroundings
We stayed for one week in the Swallow cottage during July 2018. Cottage was beautiful and comfortable. There was entertainment for our daughter at the farm by means of the play barn, play ground and being allowed to help with the animals. The farm is beautifully located, the views are spectactular.

Relaxed country life holiday in a beautiful and friendly setting bordering Dartmoor NP
Coombeshead Farm has provided us with a relaxed and friendly enviroment where our children (17&8&5&1) could roam free and explore adjacient fields (donkies, goats, lambs) and orchards (chickens, frogs, guinea fowls) in safe and playful manner. Julie and Peter have been very friendly hosts and would often take our kids "under their wings" while going about the daily animal feeding routine - this unique experience has kept the children entertained and TV/iPad free :)
