About this property
The Coach House at Stewart Hall
Ground floor large master bedroom with ensuite bath/shower room. Luxuriously furnished with a queen size double bed, high quality lnen, a two seater sofa and chair as well as bedroom furniture. French doors to the garden and grand picture windows fitted with both blinds and heavy curtains.
The second bedroom on the first floor has twin single beds and fitted wardrobes. The adjoining sitting room has two large comfy armchairs and a state of the art television system. The shower room is beautifully equipped and is directly across the hallway. Opening roof lights give panoramic views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
There are plenty of fluffy bath towels etc and a change of bed linen if required stocked in the house.
Stewart Hall is a rural idyll, situated on the beautiful west coast of Bute. The 5 Star Coach House, though self-contained, forms the west wing of the house.
The wonderful views south west across the Sound of Bute to the majestic hills of Arran, and the gentle slopes of Inchmarnock, are ever changing and truly dramatic. The three acres of mature and tranquil grounds are surrounded by gently rolling farmland. Ancient forts stand guard over the valley, and standing stones are evident in the adjacent fields. The stunning beach at St Ninian's Bay is only a short walk away.
The Category A Listed Georgian building is believed to have been built by the Adam family for the Rev. James Stewart, Laird of Kilwhinleck, in 1760.
The Coach House has been furnished and equipped to the highest standard, with meticulous attention to detail. The large drawing room on the ground floor is both sumptuous and comfortable , with windows giving views over the fields to the sea. The dining area is situated by arched glass doors which lead to the garden. The kitchen has everything you could need to make best use of the superb local produce on offer. The master bedroom is extremely spacious with french doors onto the back lawn and an ensuite bathroom. There is a second shower room on the ground floor. The first floor consists of a double bedroom with adjoining sitting room and a third bathroom. There is a plethora of natural light from the large well appointed windows throughout.
Although a perfect escape, the Coach House is a superb base from which to explore the awesome scenery of the island. It is also ideally situated to the local amenities, if you take a right turn at the end of the drive you are less than two miles from the main own of Rothesay with its local shops, bars, restaurants and the main ferry terminal. Turn left and you are five minutes from the Straad and ten from Ettrick Bay.
After a day exploring, the Coach House is the perfect home to return to.
