About this property
Classic-Cottage-Private Bathroom-Countryside view
Church Cottage, built in 1824, offers comfortable and spacious yet cosy accommodation. It is located in the unspoilt and charming village of Charmouth, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Jurassic coast. It was built originally as the coach house and stables for The White House, one of three Georgian houses prominently standing on the Main Street of the village and is set back from the road. The cottage has an open plan kitchen/diner plus a comfortable family space suitable for relaxing and socialising, both with seating for six people and a television with Smart TV functionality. In addition, there is a separate snug/cosy lounge with wood burning stove, well stocked book cases and TV, offering a smaller, quieter space. There are three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. The Master Bedroom, with en suite shower room and king size bed, is dual aspect and has french doors which open onto a small balcony with countryside views and steps down to an enclosed outside space under a pergola. Bedroom 2, separated from the Master Bedroom by the family bathroom, has a king size bed and two windows make it light and airy. The family bathroom has a full sized bath and overhead shower, WC and hand basin with smart touch lighted mirror and shaver point. Bedroom 3, again dual aspect, has a unique curved wall, characteristic of Georgian properties, with twin beds which can be configured as a king size bed, if required. There is a useful utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and storage for walking boots/ outdoor gear/ wetsuits. The private outside seating space is paved and has a table with six chairs for al fresco dining or relaxing in the fresh Dorset air. There is private parking, suitable for two vehicles, at the rear of the property. Access to the cottage, via a shared driveway, is narrow so alternative unlimited parking is available on The Street.

We are Paul and Julie and would like to offer guests a warm welcome to our comfortable cottage in this beautiful and interesting part of the world. Having lived locally for twenty five years and brought up our three sons here, we are well aware of the opportunities and activities it offers. Our aim is to offer a comfortable, clean, homely cottage in which to relax and enjoy this rural retreat, experience a slower pace of life and spend quality time with family and friends doing some of the many and varied activities available. There really is something for everyone from fossil hunting, paddle boarding, walking and cycling to visiting historic Lyme Regis, the market town of Bridport or relaxing on the beach.
