You are in an ideal position to enjoy all the delights in this wonderful seafaring town.
Set over four floors, and sleeping up to eight guests, bunk bedroom more suitable for children, it offers elegant, stylish accommodation for families or friends seeking a memorable getaway. The property retains many original features and is lovingly decorated with elegance and comfort in mind. You are welcomed with high ceilings, tall windows bathing each room in light, as well as a graceful handmade banister sweeping its way from the ground floor all the way to the top bedroom.
Enter the property into the living room with a decorative feature fireplace and a bay window. There is comfortable seating for eight adults, so you can unwind together in an evening. The kitchen with dining area is superb for family meals with plenty of space for eight around the table. The kitchen has a traditional country essence, with a range style oven, Belfast sink and timber worktops. This room is well-equipped with everything you could expect to cook a full Sunday roast. There is even a wall mounted TV, so you can catch up on your favourite soaps whilst rustling up the dinner. From the kitchen you have a utility room which can also be used for coats and walking boots, leading out into the enclosed yard. The yard has a seating area and barbecue as well as outside storage with beach equipment ready for your days out on the sand. On the first floor is an elegant king-size double bedroom with feature fireplace, a spacious house bathroom with delightful free standing roll top bath, separate shower, toilet and basin. There’s also a twin with full size bunks. The second floor has a well sized twin bedroom. In the attic room there is a kingsize double with en-suite shower and views over the rooftops over the town and beyond.
Guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to award-winning restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops in Whitby. A visit to Whitby is not complete without sampling some of the freshly caught seafood, from fish and chips, scampi to crab and lobster. It is a town steeped in history, learn more about Captain Cook at one of the many museums including one on a replica ship in the harbour, or take the famous 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and iconic abbey for a taste of Whitby’s heritage. 19 miles to the south, Scarborough remains a quintessential and much loved seaside resort, with its two sandy beaches, castle, lovely Peasholm Park, Sea Life Sanctuary, Open Air Theatre and Alpamare Water Park and Wellness Spa - all well worth a visit.
There are many pretty fishing villages along the coast where fishermen can be seen working such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay, along Yorkshire’s wonderful heritage coast. Children will love visiting the arcades, as well as spending days at the beach fossil hunting and exploring the rock pools. There is also Flamingo Land theme park and zoo just a short drive away for a big day out they will love.
