About this property

4 NIGHTS FOR PRICE OF 3 - 6 bed/6 bath, sea views/garden/parking/Sky

4 nights for the price of 3! Please ask before booking.

Seamoor House is a stylish, comfortable and spacious detached Edwardian seaside villa sleeping up to 14 in 6 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms, large kitchen/diner and 2 reception rooms.

The house has an enclosed sunny garden and ample parking for 4/5 cars. Also with Hot Tub hire and SKY Sports.

The house is in a great Whitby location on West Cliff with some sea views - a few minutes walk from the centre of town, harbour and beautiful Whitby beach on the North Yorkshire coast.

As the house will accommodate up to 14 it is ideal for large groups of extended family or friends to enjoy a lovely seaside holiday in the summer or a fun filled weekend break or special celebration any time of the year.

You are spoiled for choice in Whitby - from the obvious delights of beach, harbour, town (all within a few minutes walk) and the huge number of activities in and around Whitby - the North Yorkshire Moors are only a short drive away. As are fabulous coastal walks and picturesque villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Danby.

Retaining its Edwardian character but with modern facilities we constantly strive to keep the house well decorated and comfortably furnished to a standard that we know is expected today - we have tried hard to create a stylish, well equipped and comfortable holiday home that caters for all ages and requirements (including pool table, Sky Sports and children's Playhouse). We hope it is a real home from home for everyone who stays - the reviews suggest that it is!

We now have an arrangement with a local Hot Tub Hire company - Smurfs Hot Tub Hire who can be found on Facebook. Please contact them directly through their Facebook page to check availability, costs and to arrange hire. If you need a phone number please ask.
**N.B. We do charge £60 towards the provision of water and electricity if you are hiring a hot tub so please let us know - we will add this to the balance of your rental.

We are also happy to welcome 1 or 2 well behaved medium sized dogs with responsible owners for an additional charge of £40 per dog.

UNFORTUNATELY the house is not suitable for STAG or HEN parties or large 'events'. If you are not sure please check with us first.

Detailed House Description:

There is a large open plan kitchen/diner with patio doors opening onto the secluded rear garden. The modern white gloss kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of storage, stone work surfaces and a kitchen island.

The dining area has a large sociable square table with comfortable seating for up to 14 with a large Lazy Susan, and leads onto a reception/games room at the front of the house with lots of comfortable seating, electric fire, PS3 and a large flat screen Smart TV with Sky Sports.

A second reception room has further ample comfy seating, electric fire, a second large flat screen Smart TV with Sky Sports and a DVD player. There is also a large choice of books, DVDs, games and quizzes available - something for everyone!

The sixth bedroom, on the ground floor at the back of the house, can be used as a third reception room if preferred with large flat screen Freeview TV (or move the PS3 in here for the kids!) and comfortable seating in the form of a small double sofa-bed. This room also contains twin beds and together with the sofa bed can sleep 3/4 - it has limited hanging but loads of other storage.
There is also a modern downstairs shower room next to this bedroom.

Up the original Edwardian staircase to the galleried landing and there are 5 double bedrooms (two with sea views) all en-suite, one has a bath with shower over, the others with electric power showers.

The bedrooms consist of 1 Super King, 3 with double beds and 1 Super King (in the master) that can be set up as a twin. There is also a comfortable chair bed available in the master (the 14th sleeping space).

A travel cot is available on request (please bring your own bedding) and 2 high chairs and two booster seats are easily accessible.

Outside there is off road parking at the front for 4/5 medium sized cars and if you need more, there is unrestricted free parking on the street.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer Electric Vehicle charging at the moment and charging from house sockets is considered a fire risk by specialists and is not covered by our insurance. There are however various options in and around the town for EV charging.

There is a secluded, sunny, well established and largely walled garden to the back of the house with, large BBQ, garden furniture and benches for relaxing or dining alfresco and some garden/beach games.

There is also space for a hot tub - please see above and contact Smurfs Hot Tub Hire through their Facebook page for availability and costs. We provide water and electricity for which there is a £60 fee which we will collect with the balance.

The garden can be secured completely for dogs and children by closing/bolting the side gates.

The large detached garage provides secure storage for guests bikes, wheel chairs etc upon prior request.

A brick summer house has been made into a den for the younger guests together with a tent, play kitchen and brio train set. There is also a kids weatherproof table that can be taken outside for junior alfresco dining!

There is plenty of space for running around or a game of football on Tuckers Field just to the back of the house as well as brand new tennis courts to hire from the nearby Leisure Centre (operated by Everyone Active) which also offers swimming, gym and various indoor courts/activities.

Seamoor House has stunning views from the rear upstairs bedrooms across Tuckers field and out to sea and a glimpse of the abbey and is a short stroll to paths that will take you down onto beautiful sandy Whitby beach. There is a regular shuttle for those not able to walk to the beach and also wheelchairs suitable for use on the beach are available for hire on the promenade.

The promenade also houses Whitby Surf School with tuition and a variety of water based equipment to hire - as well as the very popular West Cliff Cafe.
Pilates and Yoga classes are also held on or near the promonade.

The location of Seamoor House is ideal - a walk of a few minutes will get you into the heart of Whitby with its harbour, shops, bars, restaurants and arcades.

Whitby Station includes the famous Steam Train that winds its way across the moors through iconic villages to Pickering.

The landmark Pannett Park with its beautiful green spaces, fantastic playground and renowned museum is a short stroll away at the end of the road.

A few hundred meters walk in the other direction, towards the sea on West Cliff, sits the another landmark - Whitby Pavilion which runs a huge range of events/entertainment throughout the year.

Whitby Leisure centre, operated by Everyone Active, so located to the rear of the house towards town with fantastic pool and fitness facilities (including Gym, badminton, table tennis and short tennis) and 2 new floodlit tennis courts just behind the house. Tuckers Field also houses the Rifle Club and Bowls Club (visitors welcome) as well as golf pitch and putt and Footgolf.

Whitby Golf Club has a lovely cliff top course open to all with a golf simulator and is a mile from Seamoor House.

Family holiday at Seamoor House , Whitby.

Beautiful house just a short walk from the beach and Whitby centre. Lovely comfortable bedrooms, a bonus having all en-suite. Well equipped kitchen, extra large fridges were great for self catering. More than enough space for large family holidays - having 2 lounges meant that there was always a retreat. Thanks to Jude for excellent communication and for allowing our dogs to stay.

Excellent location and facilities

This property is in a great location, a short walk from shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach. There is ample off street parking (which is a real plus in Whitby)! The house itself is spacious, spotlessly clean and pleasantly decorated. The kitchen and bathrooms have extra provisions which make the stay so much more comfortable. The owner was so helpful and communicative. She also helped to arrange delivery and setting up of the hot tub from a local company, which made the whole experience stressfree! A great experience all in all. We’ll definitely be back!

Great house just a short walk into Whitby

The house was clean and extremely well outfitted with good appliances, lots of room, easy parking, pleasant decor and comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen was roomy with a good dining area, backyard was nice with an outside eating area, BBQ, even a clothesline! We were within an easy walk to Whitby harbour. Instructions for the house and helpful suggestions were provided on what to do in the area. Highly recommend Seamoor House.

Perfect!

A group of 9 of us had a wonderful time in Whitby and in this house. The rooms were comfy and spacious and we all had our own bathrooms which was great. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and the table big enough for large groups. The house is so well located for the beach and town and the Pavillion where we saw a couple of shows. We thoroughly recommend this house. 😀

Great house, great location

House was booked for a family birthday get together with our boys their wives and grandchildren (preschool). The location is ideal in walking distance to Whitby town even for a four year old, the playroom was greatly appreciated and the garden is secure for toddlers. Everyone agreed the house was great and the younger members of our party didn't want to go home. What more can we add great holiday, great house, great location. Great communication with owner.

Excellent stay at Seamoor House

We’ve just returned from 4 nights at Seamoor House and we’ve had a fab time. The house was perfect for our group of 4 families. The 2 lounges we’re great, one has a snooker table which was used lots. The table in the kitchen is huge and had plenty of space for all of us. All of the bedrooms have their own bathroom so there was no need to share, and the sea views from 2 of the bedrooms were a bonus The house is so central, just a few minutes walk to the beach and a ten minute stroll into town and to the harbour. We would all definitely stay at the house again

Lovely home to celebrate sons 40th birthday

Had a lovely time and would recommend to others, the house was well equipped and had everything we needed, we stripped beds as requested and put into black bags which we provided, it may be a good idea to provide a black bag in each room for people to do this. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us not to be on top of each other, we were all sad to leave, thank you to Jude for providing all that was needed

Excellent property, Perfect location.

Our stay at seamoor house was perfect for our family of 10. The house was superb, extremely well equipped and a 10-15 minute walk into whitby centre. Excellent location. A couple of our party were unable to walk back to the house due to mobility issues, but a taxi was only £5. Booking was smooth and Jude, the owner, was in touch with regular updates. As we were having shopping delivered and the 4.00 slot was the only 1 available, the cleaners were so accommodating and made sure they were finished preparing the house by then. All the rooms were comfortable and as described on the website. Beautiful views of the coast from a couple of rooms. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Family break

This property is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in.Our family of 14 ranging from 13 to 67 were all very impressed with everything. The house is well equipped with everything you would need, just a lovely home from home. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely house to other family and friends, in fact we have already given details to friends who wanted to know where we stayed. We parked 5 cars easily on the driveway and as it’s just a short walk away from the harbour and the many pubs and restaurants they stayed on the drive most of the time.Plenty of information leaflets on local attractions in the hallway.Jude was an excellent host, replying to our messages promptly. Nothing was too much trouble for her.We will be back as soon as we get chance.*****

Our stay was positive overall. kitchen was very well equipped, with plenty of dishes, cutlery etc.. and cooking utensils. The house was very clean, would have liked some cleaning products to be available in the property, as had to purchase a mop !! Handy for shops and easy walk into the town, with lots for everyone to do. Good rooms for families to spend time together.

About the host

Hosted by Jude Ferrao

Host profile image
We are two families - the Ferraos and the Whites - with 6 very active boys between us and have holidayed together for many years. We all live in West London but have friends and family all around the country. We wanted to find a large house in a beautiful part of the country with lots to do where we could all get together - somewhere we would all look forward to going back to again and again!

Why they chose this property

Living in London we really wanted somewhere to get away to that was completely different from our everyday surroundings - a house that we could set up exactly the way we wanted. We have all spent time in Yorkshire over the years and love Whitby because it is a beautiful, historic, unspoiled seaside town with something for everyone and everything within walking distance.

Situated in a very beautiful area between the Yorkshire coast and the North York moors you are never far from the stunning coastline and beaches that we love. There are fabulous views, good walking, lovely beaches, golf courses (we are keen golfers), numerous other sporting activities, good independent shops, pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants. Something for everyone whatever the time of year and all in a lovely 'away from it all' setting! We loved this house because of the space and flexibility it offered - 5 double bedrooms upstairs - all en suite (one with bath), a downstairs bedroom with adjacent shower room. There is also loads of living and entertaining space in the two reception rooms and large kitchen/diner so it never feels full even with 12 or more of us there! (Being Sports fans we had to have SKY Sports as well!)
We wanted Seamoor House to provide us with a great place for extended family and friends to get together in a comfortable, well equipped house that is everything we wanted from our 'home from home'. However, when we are not there we want it to be used and enjoyed by others so have set it up as a holiday let with this in mind!

What makes this property unique

- 6 double bedrooms (1 Superking, 1 Superking/twin plus chairbed, 3 double, downstairs bedroom with 3 singles.)
- 6 bathrooms so no queuing/sharing and much quicker getting everyone ready to go!
- 2 good sized comfortable reception rooms (one with pool table, PS3 and Ipod dock the other with DVD player), both with large flat screen TVs with SKY + Sports.
- Large sociable kitchen/diner opening onto the enclosed garden with plenty of garden furniture, BBQ, garden games and kids playhouse.
- Sea and Moor views from upstairs bedrooms
- Parking for up to 5 cars
- All a short stroll from just about everything Whitby has to offer!
