Great house, great location

Great location. House was ideal and contributed to having a great holiday. Rooms were a great size and although we didn’t cook kitchen was well equipped. Beds were wonderful. There was a crab bucket and old bait left in the cupboard off the dining room which meant that room was completely unusable until we found the said item and aired the room.

Beautiful House!

Plenty of room for our party of 10. Only 5-10 minutes walk into Whitby centre. Perhaps more of a mention that there are a good few steps to access the house, both front and back (not a big problem for us) and although Whitby centre is very close there was a steep hill to negotiate, a slight problem for us but we managed. Both the steps and the hill would have an impact on the elderly and disabled.

Lovely house, perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate an 80th birthday.

House was clean and cosy but also very spacious - didn't feel like there was 10 people there. Good location although a bit of a slippy experience getting down to the town with the icy conditions but just added to the fun. Would definitely stay again.

80th Birthday Weekend!

The house is perfect for a number of guests of all ages. The rooms are so spacious. The games room is an added bonus. We celebrated my mum’s 80th Birthday for the weekend with family and it was perfect! It was really warm. The bedrooms are lovely. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too. Thank you. The only suggestion we had was, perhaps a mat in the bath for when you are having a shower. It could get a little bit slippy.

Lovely house great location

Very large property. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and bedding. Some bathrooms/en-suite need updating. The plumbing was quite noisy at times.

Great location, great facilities

Location was excellent and having off road parking was a real bonus. Liked it so much we have already booked it for next year An extra set of front door keys. Because we were a group of friends and not all going to the same event and were coming back at different times, we really could have done with another set at least.

We chose the house to accommodate our family of 11 for a long weekend to go on NYMR Santa special

All beds were comfortable with lovely fresh clean linen. We very much appreciated the 4 car parking spaces which would be a godsend in the summer months. Just one final observation we were told a cot was not available so we brought one with us but then discovered one in one of the wardrobes. In conclusion a fantastic property which I would recommend to any prospective client and also one I would happily return to.

Was a great stay very spacious house with plenty of parking - short walk into Whitby town centre .

House decor was ok and kitchen well stocked - bedrooms tidy with comfortable beds - very clean and tidy . Only small negative was with the keys which was very confusing as one set for front door and one set for back door - but not marked up - the locks were also very stiff . I think that the owner should review keys and make up 4 x complete set . Willing to bet that people get locked out on a regular basis otherwise ! But overall a great stay - would definitely stay at this property again !

Great house, very comfy, beds were great, got a good night sleep, didn&#39t look into disabled facilities, we had a disability scooter with us and no where to keep it except outside back gate.... out side back area very small, with steep steps, back door was a nightmare to open, and lock.....would go back there , 8 out 10

Great family holiday had by all.

Location, parking facilities, comfort and kitchen facilities. Very spacious with good bathroom layout. A few things in the guest book that still hadn&#39t been sorted su h as fridge light and faulty oven rack supports. The biggest improvement that could be made is the overall cleanliness, some of the areas obviously hadn&#39t been cleaned for a long time due to the tackiness of carpets, skirting boards, doors etc, this is the only real complaint but could be easily remedied by more vigilant hand over cleans and perhaps 6 monthly deep cleans.

Celebrating the completion of an OU degree

We were a party of 9 - mixture of family and friends and a small dog - marking my niece’s achievement. We live at a distance from each other so the size and layout of the house was perfect for us. Plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms over 3 floors, living rooms on more than one level. We lost each other when we didn’t want to be together ! The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we could want. In fact, everything we could want was in the house. Not cluttered but everything there. The location of the house in Whitby was good for us. Walking in and out of town was not a problem. The open top tour bus stops outside the house, with other public transport. The parking space was big enough to take our 9 seater vehicle. We could walk to the cliffs and beach too from the house. And we ate some fantastic food. Found some brilliant restaurants and pubs in both Whitby and nearby villages. The weather was sunny and warm which helped a lot too But in summary we all thought it was a great house which suited us very well

A great location and we would love to stay again

It’s a beautiful home from home - large rooms and comfortable beds. A well equipped kitchen made it very easy to self cater. The main lounge really could do with and additional 3 seater sofa with the 2 seater being relocated to the bay window area because if there are 10 adults it’s extremely uncomfortable and three are left without a suitable seat. The small tub seat has one wonky leg making it unstable.

Would not hesitate to book again

Lovely big old house for a family gathering, lovely fresh white linen and towels, beds really comfy, good selection of crockery, We didn't cook during our stay, so can't comment the ovens etc., Large sitting room and dining room, loved the 2nd sitting room on 2nd floor, really handy for families with children to have a second sitting room with a tv, or just to watch a different programme on the TV, could hardly hear any noise transference through the floors, good if you have small children in bed early. Lovely big bathroom on the half landing up from the ground floor. Lovely roll top bath too. V close to the town, 10 minutes max walking down with a young child, a bit of a climb back up to the house, but this is Whitby after all, that's what we love about it. Pannett Park was great, lovely play area for children, and lovely to walk round, shame they don't allow dogs, although there is a small area at the n/east side of the park that is dog friendly. We would definitely stay again. Finally 'Finest Retreats' have been great, when I've had any queries, quick response and v friendly and helpful. Thank you. Not a lot, Back yard needed a good sweep, which walks into the house, makes it a lot nicer stay when clean, we cleaned this area ourselves just to freshen it up a bit. I doubt v much that this is covered by the cleaning of the property, but the fact that it gets walked into the house won't help the cleaning team. We only used the back door to access the property so can't comment on the front access. It would also be handy to have some basic cleaning products in the house, especially when you rent the property for a week, it's a big house with lots of space, would be nice to be able to clean if you want to, or is that just me! A bit of a musty smell in the hallway, near the back door into kitchen i guess when it's raining a lot of water from the back yard walks in on everyones shoes which doesn't help. Yes the stairs to the top floor could be a problem for older people, but guests are made aware, and there's plenty of space and light on the stairs. You rent a property with 3 upper floors, you expect to climb stairs to get to the top. You are made aware of the possible lack of heated water for showers so this isn't a problem, just don't all try and shower/bath at the same time.
