Family holiday

The house suited us perfectly: the location is close to the sea with lovely views; the standard of the rooms, facilities etc is outstanding; the host was very helpful. A particularly nice touch is that there was coffee, fruit, a bottle of wine, cakes and biscuits, which made us feel very welcome.We all had a wonderful time even though though the weather wasn't great for the last few days. We'd like to come again next year.

Family Birthday Weekend

Amazing. We stayed as a party of 8 and we couldn’t have asked for a better property to stay in. Beautifully clean. Lovely bedrooms. Lots of attention to detail. Easy check in process.

Wonderful stay

Misty Cottage is in a great location minutes from the coast and an easy scenic walk into Whitby with all that this charming town has to offer. The property was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Clearly a great deal of thought had gone into that. Also very comfortably and attractively furnished, with comfy beds and modern bathrooms. A great place to stay for a family or large group. Helpful advice always available if needed.

Our long awaited weekend staycation couldn’t have gone better. Amazing house with ample space for six adults to settle in comfortably. Great location for exploring the area and for walks. First class service from the start. Everything little thing was provided to ensure we had all we needed. Definitely going back!

Lovely cottage and area

9 of us (6 adults and 3 children ages bet 12 & 15) had a lovely time in Whitby staying in this lovely cottage with lots of space for family. Right by a beach, and an easy 1 mile distance/walk into Whitby which we explored several times. We were also not far from Sandsend beach which we loved! We went on the Whitby to Pickering steam train, stopping at Goathland, went up the 199 step to the Abbey, visiting the lovely Whitby brewery. and did the ghost tour/walk in Whitby. Well recommend Runswick bay and Staithes too! We ate out at The Whitehouse Inn next door, and had a lovely experience at the Fish Cottage celebrating my mum's 80th birthday. Thank you for being so accommodating to our needs, which made our stay more pleasurable. We hope to visit the area again some time in the future!

Misty Cottage 5 stars!!

Best well equipped cottage we have ever been to. Has all the little extra things you need. Tin foil cling film sharp knives toilet paper hand soap. Coffee perculator. Only think missing was a tea strainer!! We could have benefited with some hooks on the back of the doors! Apart from that a well equipped family rental. A photo of the patio back garden space could be added as from the photos it looks like the pub garden is the back view from the cottage...which it isn't! The outdoor front garden is very pleasant to sit out in with views to the sea. In the evening the sunshine is ideal on the back patio garden for a BBQ and G and T's! The rental itself has lots of space. Kitchen diner a real hit. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Tv's in every room were a big hit with the teenagers! We could walk from the cottage into Whitby along the coast crazy golf and ice cream on the way! Fish and chips arcade and ghost walk and a trip on a pirate ship were a few of the activities we did that week. Swim in the sea 5 mins down to the beach. There is a f Coastal path to follow for those who can't do steps. A good stay had by all. Definately recommend Misty Cottage we had a party of 12 age range from 9yrs through to 82! Would come here again! Thankyou.

We stayed as a parry of 9 adults to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. We had a wonderful stay. I got a text from Jill to say the house was ready around 3 hours before check-in time which was a great start. The house is super easy to find and is in a fabulous location. In a lovely quiet street with the cliff walk and a sea view at the end. You walk into the kitchen which along with the rest of the house is spotless, homely and inviting. We spent a lot of time round the large kitchen table. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could think of. All the bedrooms were comfortable with lovely clean linens and the bathrooms were spotless with great showers. It was great having the kitchen space but also a 2nd floor room with lots of seating options and a large tv. The house has been decorated to a very high standard and it all felt very roomy. We didnt use the garden due to the weather which was a shame. I would recommend this house to anyone and would love to return one day.

Lovely Stay Near Beach and Town

We very much enjoyed our stay in Whitby, the house had enough space for 3 generations to cohabit without killing each other lol. The house is well equipped and nice to have rooms accessible without having to take a lot of stairs. Location is perfect for walking into town or the beach as long as you don’t mind a hike back up or several sets of stairs but there are options to get there is you have more limited mobility.

We all had a fabulous week at Misty cottage celebrating my 50th . 3 generations of family and a dog. Plenty of space for everyone, a very well equipped kitchen , all bedrooms beautiful. Great location, few minutes from the beach , 20 min walk into Whitby and a pub next door. Will definitely recommend this place, a great place to stay

Misty Cottage lived up to expectations, a beautiful place with all amenities and in a fantastic spot a stones throw from the coastal path into Whitby centre. The layout suited our family party perfectly, the kitchen & dining space were especially good together

Family trip

3 generations (6 adults) and the dog, lovely place, plenty room for everyone. Whitby has plenty to do and is very dog friendly. We ate twice at the Inn across the road. There is little mention of the dog secure back garden, it’s small but there is a deck and seating. Plenty movies and games too. Everything was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Misty Cottage

We had an amazing week at Misty Cottage over the Christmas week. The cottage was fully equipped and gave 3 generations the space that was needed. The bedroom off the kitchen was perfect for nanny who often wakes early and needs a cuppa and the double and twin rooms on the top floor felt like a little private flat. All rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. What stands out for us is the location. With Whitby town and the beach on your doorstep it was perfect for our dog walks and exploring Whitby itself. We had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to returning to Whitby to explore some more.

Misty Cottage

Beautiful house and in a superb location. The only gripe we had was when we did half of the cleaners job by stripping all the bedding off prior to checking out, it revealed the stains on the mattress covers from previous visitors. There was also quite a lot of dust and cobwebs. None of this spoiled our stay but as a Premier Host we would have expected better.

Misty Cottage

Very well placed property between Whitby and Sandsend. Excellent walking. Very quiet. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Well equipped and relaxing. Highly recommend a stay here.
