Perfect location for restaurants, cafes, bars and transport links including the ferry terminal, all less than 5 minutes away. Just a short walk to Oban's famous seafront and esplanade, fresh local seafood restaurants and boat trips.

Located in the heart of Oban, The Clamshell is a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor of Stevenson House, and is the ideal base for exploring the town and surrounding area.

Decorated with a coastal theme, taking inspiration from the islands and beaches of the Scottish Hebrides, this is a calming holiday apartment, homely and full of charm, perfect for your trip to this seaside town.

It features a fully equipped kitchen, bright living space, comfortable and quiet bedrooms with garden views and family bathroom.

On-street metered parking is available right outside the property which is free overnight between 6pm and 9am.

You will have access to the entire apartment during your stay.

LIVING ROOM: Enjoy looking down on the bustling town centre of Oban from the bright and comfortable living space. Watch the world go by with an evening glass of wine looking across the heart of the town before dining out at one of the many restaurants just a short walk away. The layout includes sofa, armchairs, TV, dining table and chairs seating 4 guests. The space is full of seaside charm and is the ideal home away from home.

KITCHEN: The brand new fitted kitchen is immaculately clean, with an individual and contemporary feel. Fully equipped and the perfect space if you would like to cook during your stay. Enjoy some delicious Nespresso morning coffee from the espresso maker!

MASTER BEDROOM: Double bed with luxurious mattress and built-in wardrobe. Calming, oceanic theme helps you to 'drift off' for a great night's sleep. Wake up in the morning and watch the peaceful doves nesting in the neighbour’s garden from the window.

TWIN BEDROOM: Two single beds and built-in wardrobe. The coastal colours create a relaxing feel, and again the garden views can be enjoyed. Both bedrooms are quiet overnight, as they are at the rear of the property and not street-facing.

BATHROOM: Good sized family bathroom with bath and shower.

Beautiful days at the clamshell!

The location was great, the lovely decorated apartment was very clean and comfortable. Thanks for the coffee, milk and biscuits! The folks upstairs were up a bit late and you could hear them, but the rest of the stay was relaxing and very enjoyable!

Nice property, well maintained and clean, good location near center of town ....concerns were probably more with the lack of information about Scottish culture here as I'm an American. First, "second floor apartment" is on 3rd floor where ground floor is floor 0 so extra steps to traipse up (no elevator). Second, parking is a challenge where street parking only allows max two hours (paid) during the day, so you're either dropping off your car at some free lot several blocks away, renewing the parking fee every two hours or ignoring it. Lastly, since Scotland does not use much A/C, would've been nice to have a fan available since the apmt faces the sun in the afternoon and evening and the apmt got quite warm. All in all, nice place as an anchor point for trip to the northern highlands or ferry to other islands. (All ferries were full for us two weeks ahead of stay in the spring so book ahead of time.)

I love Scotland and enjoy spending my time exploring the amazing beaches, islands, forests and mountains of the west coast. I'm proud to be Scottish and I love welcoming visitors to my hometown and sharing our fantastic scenery and wildlife with the rest of the world.

I enjoy travelling around the rest of Scotland as well as across Europe. I'm a total foodie and as a rule my trips and adventures must always involve finding the best bakery, coffee shop, cheesemaker, winery or whatever the tastiest local produce is along the way. Even if I'm just popping out on a casual Sunday cycle I will only go if it means getting a slice of my favourite apple pie on the way. Happy to share more info on this (and other tips) with my guests by the way!
