Sarlat is a small medieval town of exceptional beauty with its narrow winding streets, stone roofs and medieval and renaissance architecture. You will be mesmerized by over 1000 years of art and architecture at every turn, all accessible within 10 minutes on foot from your Sarlat holiday home. And the beauty of our location is that you can sit in the garden enjoying the pool or having your lunch and it's peaceful enough to hear the birds sing.
Please be wary of listings that claim to be in Sarlat or 5 or 10 minutes from Sarlat. This often refers to driving time. We are a genuine 10 minute walk to the medieval center. We've heard countless stories from holidaymakers believing they were coming to stay in Sarlat but have had to travel miles to get anywhere.
You can visit Sarlat's famous farmers' market and food hall or indulge in French pavement cafe culture while you watch the world pass by. Sarlat has many free events and attractions throughout the year including a Christmas market with ice rink. With events taking place almost every month of the year, there is always a good time to visit Sarlat! In summer you will find street performers, open air theatres, music festivals, fireworks, acrobats, musicians and clowns providing nightly shows for your entertainment. After a day spent messing about on the river, visiting caves, medieval bastide villages and chateaux, why not sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and watch the locals play Petanque, or even have a go yourself.
There really is something for everyone here in Sarlat, right on your doorstep...

Our stay was excellent! The house was just as portrayed in the listing. It was an easy walk into the old town for lunch or dinner. It was also very easy to drive out of town to the many beautiful sites in the area. Grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. were all conveniently nearby. We especially enjoyed the covered patio for lunches and a glass of wine in the evening.
We had a lovely stay at the property. The kitchen is very well equipped, the rooms are spacious and confortable, the house is clean and the host were really very helpful. Location is very good too, walking distance the historical centre of Sarlat which means you can walk to restaurants or the market etc. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time staying here and would like to thank Geraldine and Joe for their wonderful hospitality. Everything was perfect - the location, the easy parking (we never even used the dedicated parking, just used the big empty lot across the street), the comfortable beds, large and well-equipped kitchen, super fast internet, and exceptionally clean. It's about a 10-15 min easy walk into town and we never used taxis or buses, even in the rain. We thought the location was close enough to be convenient but far away from the hustle and bustle that it was peaceful and quiet at night. Very clean and the house smelled fresh - not of artificial scents, but just soap and water, as it should be. Geraldine responded to our questions about dining and nearby towns instantly, offering many great suggestions. An exceptional stay, and we hope to return soon.
We had a wonderful time at Geraldine and Joe’s beautiful house. The location was perfect, close to town and a peaceful spot. The kitchen was well equipped for making dinner with treats purchased at the market. The house was very comfortable, plenty of towels, clean, and has lovely views with plenty of light. Geraldine greeted us and gave us some great trips and recommendations. Was great to meet her and feel welcomed to the town. I hope to come back in the summer to try out the pool!

This house is charming, well maintained and very comfortable. It's a short 5 minute walk from the old centre of Sarlat. It has a lovely garden & pool, convenient off street parking and sits in a very quiet street. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking a full meal. The hosts are attentive & responsive. I would highly recommend for a comfortable stay in Sarlat & as a base to explore the surrounding area.
Property was excellent and all was as advertised. Location great - 800m max from town centre. Good parking, facilities and pool. High quality property in excellent location and the hosts were fantastic and made it all very easy. For us the only constructive feedback would be a more comfortable sofa in the lounge (which is a tiny point). Would highly recommend to anyone looking for stay in Sarlat. A great property and perfect hosts.

Geraldine was absolutely wonderful with communication. Directions, ideas on things to do , nearby grocery stores , etc. she met us at the home and gave us a full tour . The house is charming !!! The bed linens were so wonderful ; I slept like a baby . There is a pool , a grill, outdoor seating in 2 locations: 1 to dine in the backyard by the grill and 1 in front to enjoy a cocktail and watch the neighborhood. Parking is convenient! Easy to get in and out of town . The location is walkable into the medieval center city to explore the many shops and cafes . It is also a convenient location for exploring the beautiful villages in the Dordogne. I highly recommend staying here !

The property is in a great location to walk into Sarlat with its many restaurants. After a day out exploring the area it was a pleasure to go back to the house that was exceptionally clean and had all the facilities we needed. In the evening it was great to relax drinking local wine on the terrace overlooking the boule pitches. The hosts were available via WhatsApp to answer any questions and gave suggestions on where to visit and eat.

We had a amazing holiday here. Leanne ad Paul take great pride in offering a well-equipped, clean and comfortable home. The gardens and pool are a lovely place to soak up some sun at the end of a day exploring the area. Sarlat old town is a pleasant 5 minute stroll and so many of the highlights of the Dordogne valley are within a 20 minute drive. We all had a fabulous time and thoroughly recommend the house.
We had a great time in the house. It had everything we needed. And very friendly owner.
The pool was very welcome and kept very clean.
Would we go back. Yes.
We had an incredible time staying in Paul’s beautiful and perfectly located home while attending Sarlat’s annual truffle festival. We were easily able to walk to everything - the festival, shops, and restaurants from the perfect location. The home is charming and spacious and the beds are heavenly- so comfortable! Merci beaucoup Paul! We would happily stay here again! A lovely home in a spectacular location and charming village.

Thanks for the review, we are happy you enjoyed the house, the pool and the local restaurants! I'm hungry now :)
This is a stunning property, beautiful and amazingly situated. Every morning we’d walk about 5 mins into the centre of Sarlat for a morning coffee, spend the day by the pool then back into town for the evening .
The house is Modern and comfortable & although central feels so private and quiet. We’re a family with 2 girls of 7 & 17 and it was perfect for them both -
Would definitely recommend, this property is a real treasure.

What makes this property unique
This is a wonderful turn of the century period stone town house with good size mature private garden set within an easy 10 minute stroll of Sarlat.
