Tucked away just of the high street, this wonderful cosy cottage has an open fire and homely atmosphere. Sitting out in the mornings with a cup of tea in the enclosed courtyard is a delight.. Ground Floor:

This charming Grade II listed semi-detached cottage is set just off the high street, tucked away behind secure gates set in a large private courtyard ideal for sitting out and relaxing. Next to the friendly pubs, most serving delicious food, it’s ideal to stroll out on an evening and enjoy a couple of drinks with a leisurely meal. Conway Cottage has been sympathetically renovated to expose the wonderful, original inglenook fireplace, home now to a cosy wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings in when you want to sit and relax after a day out exploring the glorious surrounding countryside. The exposed stone walls and contemporary style shutters at the windows are a lovely design feature in this welcoming cottage, retaining the charm and many of the original features of this former 19th-century blacksmith’s cottage.
The Simonside Hills are ideal for the serious walkers or a gentle stroll along the River Coquet is perfect for those wanting a more relaxing holiday. Conway Cottage is perfect for couples or a small family. The large arch gates at the front is the entrance the carriages used to use in the 1800s and 1900s. Rothbury is set along the River Coquet where you can fish for salmon and trout. The golf course is just over the bridge should you be a keen golfer. Cragside House (National Trust) is in walking distance and packed full of quirky inventions with stunning gardens in spring and summer.
Rothbury has plenty of pubs, cafés, takeaways, bakeries and a few independent shops, as well as an award-winning butcher and a riverside and play park for the children. Parking in this friendly small town is free and available in most of the small town. A few miles drive will take you over to Alnwick, home to the Duke of Northumberland, where he resides in the famous castle which is open to the public, and was used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes. A day trip over to the Northumberland National Park is well worth the effort in any season and Kielder Water Riverside has plenty of stopping-off picnic areas for the family. The stunning Northumberland Heritage Coastline makes for a wonderful day out where you can explore up and down the coastline taking in historic castles and some unspoilt golden beaches.
