Cottage in Pegwell Village, Ramsgate great for cliff top walks and sandy beaches
Floral Cottage is an historic house on the viking trail coastal cycling route. Located next to Kent wildlife trust's largest nature reserve, Sandwich and Pegwell Bay. Close to local taverns with outdoor seating and cliff top views and an easy 2km walk into Ramsgate town centre and its royal harbour. There are sandy beaches in walking distance. The cottage was built around 1830. The ground floor has a lounge with television, two sofas, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with oven and induction hob. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms (one with double bed and the other with two singles) and modern bathroom with shower over bath. The kitchen leads to the 30 metres garden. It is a great place to relax and makes an excellent base for touring Kent and the Isle of Thanet. Neighbouring towns of Broadstairs, Margate and Sandwich are a short drive away. Other historic towns and places of interest such as Canterbury Cathedral and Dover Castle can be reached within 30 mins drive. The location of the house is in a quiet village on the outskirts of Ramsgate, but there are two family friendly pubs with restaurants very close by, so it is not isolated. The house does not have its own off-street parking, and due to the narrow road it is not legal to park immediately outside the house. There is free on-street parking 100 metres in either direction, and it is possible to stop outside to pick up or drop off bags and passengers. The area is popular with golfers and bird-watchers. Local water-sports include kite surfing, SUP and kayaking.

I’m glad you liked the cottage and had a good time.
The house is so beautiful and well equipped and also has a very nice garden, so everything you need for holidays with kids. It‘s well located for nice seaside walks and there‘s a really nice pub with a great view just across the street.
The cottage is nice and clean and the garden is wonderful. The property was fully equipped, which was great, so we didn’t need to bring things like towels, liquids etc with us. We had a wonderful time, and the nearby pubs are recommendable as well!
I spent a fantastic family weekend here. The house is clean, fully equipped with a modern toilet and kitchen, and very comfortable. Ruth is an excellent and very friendly host. The house is situated in a quiet area, offering a breathtaking view of the sea from the clifftop, and features a spacious garden that allows you to enjoy the tranquillity of Ramsgate.

I’m glad you enjoyed your visit! You are welcome back any time.
We had a great stay in this lovely house and garden. Very comfortable, easy to park car. Great location for exploring the surrounding area.
Would definately recommend.
Very good - ideal for 4 - parking isn’t easy and you do have to park a distance away Very clean and nice bathroomCan be noisy early with deliveries to the pub I’m an early riser but don’t expect a lie in - easy walk to Ramsgate harbour lots of restaurants- we will look at booking again
Really lovely little house with a big garden. Clean and comfortable and well equipped. Ideally located on the edge of Ramsgate for exploring Thanet and East Kent. We particularly appreciated the blackout blinds / curtains. The pubs opposite are both good for food - and they only collect the glass early in the morning once a week or so!

Thanks for your review, I'm glad you had a good visit to Ramsgate.
We stayed at Floral Cottage for a short three-night getaway, and we're so happy we did. The property is clean, well-equipped, and decorated in a tasteful way. And it's location is perfect: you can watch the sun set over the bay and the cliffs from the master bedroom windows, and there are so many wonderful walks and other activities available nearby. Would be very happy to stay again.

Thanks for staying at Floral Cottage. You will be welcome back any time.
Thanks a lot to Ruth and her husband for the wonderful stay. Both were really friendly and provided us with a lot useful information about Ramsgate and the Region. Check-in and check-out were super easy.
The cottage is perfect: extraordinarily clean, well-equipped and the garden is but a dream come true.
We hope to return soon.

You will be welcome back, thanks for being great guests.
Floral Cottage was even lovelier than it looked in the photos, also very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the garden in the August sunshine and the pubs across the road were very handy for a meal or drink, though never noisy. Being right near the coastal path was perfect for a morning run or walk. Ruth was very helpful and communicative about our stay. We'd be happy to stay here again.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. You and your party would be welcome back any time.
Ruth's cottage was really lovely, clean and fully equipped on a quiet cliff road overlooking the sea. Ruth was very helpful and her tips about local charms were really useful. We enjoyed Ramsgate fully and visited Sandwich, Deal, Margate and Howletts Wildlife Park. We recommend her place for a great getaway for family or couple. Thanks Ruth!

we can't thank Ruth enough. We have never done an Air b&b before and we didn't know what to expect. It was all effortless and we felt very much at home. the property itself is in a prime location for everything, pubs, beach, shops, restaurants. We'll be back for sure!

I’m glad you felt at home, thanks for being great guests. You will be welcome back!
A lovely welcome guide provided by Ruth before arrival to help with accommodation logistics and provide inspiration with what to do and where to go around the area.
A great little house, was plenty big enough for a family of 4 including 2 teenagers normally glued to their phones, and was in a good location to visit a number of the surrounding locations.
Would recommend to others :)

Thanks for your review, and for being great guests!
Disappointed from arrival, place was dirty, had to wash crockery and cutlery before use, wakened at 6.30 with empty bottles being collected from the pub opposite, then beer barrels being delivered, all in all would have left on Sunday, but was expensive for what it was after a long journey ,will not recommend this

I'm sorry to read this, it would have been helpful if you gave me feedback on arrival as requested. The cleaners are usually very good and I could have asked them to correct any issues. The cottage is near to two pubs in the village but it is unusual to hear noise that early.
Nice little cottage in Pegwell Village. It was very clean and comfortable and well equipped.
The listing does indicate that parking is only on street and a short walk away. Due to the inclement weather this was a mild nuisance.
I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Ramsgate area.
We had a lovely time staying at this property and would love to stay again the house was very clean and we had everything we needed when needing to get in touch with Ruth it. was so simple and she addressed all see questions we asked.

Thanks for your review, I am glad you had a good time . We would be delighted to have you come and stay here again.
Our stay was just perfect. First, the communication was excellent: we always had very quick answers to our messages and questions. Then, she accepted an earl-check-in because circumstances allowed it. That was really appreciated and it made our lives easier with two young children. When we checked-in, we could see the cottage was as described: lovely, nice, comfortable, ideally located (near the beach, near a path, just opposite two great pubs, neear other lovely towns in Kent) and it was very clean. We definitely recommend Ruth's cottage and we will undoubtedly book it again in the near future.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, you will be welcome back.
We wanted a "bucket and spade" type of break away with our daughter and grandson (nearly 3) and the house suited us very well. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable and the garden was a real bonus. The online details were accurate and the information sent prior to our break really helped us make the most of the area. Ruth, the host, kept in contact in a friendly and very helpful way. On street parking was easy and only a little way from the front door!
Having a pub opposite was also very convenient, however (this is not a criticism at all - but perhaps a bit of useful information for you are considering a visit)- glass collection was early in the morning and the smashing was pretty noisy!
Le logement est très confortable, très conforme aux photos. Je recommande !

What makes this property unique
In the long history of the cottage it has been used as a sea captain's retirement home, Tea Gardens and a Florists. It is possible that potted shrimps were served to a young Queen Victoria in the Tea Gardens before she came to the throne. There is a network of tunnels running under the houses in the village coming from the bottom of the cliffs and under the Belle Vue, which were used by smugglers in days of old.
