A family get together so 9 of us and our dogs. The house is so spacious and in such an amazing location. We visited during the heatwave in May so we spent a lot of time in the river. There is everything you need and the beds are really comfy. Would highly recommend and would definitely revisit.

Thanks for your kind words. The river is so good for kayaking, paddle boarding etc especially when the weather is nice.
Best organised and equipped house we have rented. Cooking was a dream here. Everything was spotless. Host was extremely helpful and communication was great. The layout of the house is a bit different, with steep stairs to both bedroom wings, but two ground floor cloak rooms was a big bonus. The outdoor areas were nice but it was very windy when we visited so we did not get to enjoy it a much as we wanted to. The hot tub was great. The outlook is very lovely looking at the river and bridge. Though there is a large truck hauling company across the road, which did cause some hairy moments getting out of the drive as they careened over the bridge. Lovely little hamlet. Great location, to visit all the local historic houses. A great little pub over the river Square and Compass was excellent, great food, with rural views and river seating. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the excellent review. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
What a fantastic find this property was. We had a wonderful stay with family and were well catered for in every aspect. The property has everything needed for a really enjoyable stay, from toiletries and kitchen appliances, to entertainment options like TVs in every room and a lovely hot tub! We rented both properties and it worked excellently for us as there was a big communal area for our three families to congregate, but plenty of space to escape and chill out in another room.

Thanks so much. Glad the property had everything you needed.
An excellent location, with everything you need right on your doorstep, the house as so well equipped, modern and clean - everything we hoped for and more. The dog loved watching the river as well.

Thanks Rachel. Both places you mention are highly recommended for children. Matlock being so close is also great to visit and a great walk alongside the railway line where you will often spot the steam trains.
A beautiful house with very thoughtful touches, we didn’t need anything other than food. Our children loved the location and we enjoyed the relaxing sounds of the river. Would come again!

Hi Ian- Thanks for the review and pleased the kids enjoyed the riverside. There’s lots of wildlife to see. Hope you managed to see the Kingfisher that travels up and down the river several times a day.
The accommodation was beautiful with more than enough facilities to our needs.
We went as a family of 10 with age ranging from 10 to 70+ and everyone loved the accommodation and location. I highly recommend this place as the host Dan replied to all my queries quickly and was not strict on timings. We had a fabulous time and this was due to the accommodation being so great!

This property was perfect for our stay. There was a group of 8 of use. There was plenty of space and all the equipment we needed for a brilliant stay.

Hi Jessica, thanks for the wonderful review. Nice to hear you enjoyed your stay and the property
We are Taylor Holiday Lets, a local family run holiday let business, and we personally manage and care for every property we host. Being hands on means we know each home inside out and can make sure it is always well prepared for your stay.
We live locally and love the Peak District and surrounding areas. We enjoy helping guests make the most of their time here, whether that is recommending great walks, places to eat or family friendly days out. Our focus is on creating relaxed, comfortable stays where guests feel well looked after, without anything feeling over managed or impersonal.
We take pride in offering well maintained homes, clear communication and a friendly, responsive approach from booking through to check out.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because of its peaceful riverside setting and the sense of calm that comes with being beside the water. Darley Bridge sits in a beautiful spot, with the River Derwent flowing past, green countryside all around and easy access to walking routes and nearby towns. It feels relaxed and scenic, yet never remote.
What we enjoy most is spending time by the river. Fishing on our own private stretch of the River Derwent is a real highlight, as is watching the many birds that visit the water throughout the day. Cormorants and other birdlife are regularly seen, adding to the natural charm of the setting. We have spent a lot of time at the property ourselves and love how the area changes with the seasons. It is a place that suits both active days exploring the Peak District and quieter moments simply enjoying being by the river, which is why we love hosting guests here.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property unique is its rare riverside position combined with space, privacy and flexibility. The house sits directly on the River Derwent and benefits from its own private stretch of river, offering fishing from the garden and a constantly changing natural outlook. Watching the water, birdlife and wildlife from the property is a real part of the experience.
The layout is also a key feature. The home is arranged as one large property with a characterful main house and an adjoining self contained annexe, connected internally while also offering the option of independent space. This makes it ideal for families, multi generation stays or two families holidaying together.
Added to this are features such as the large hot tub, riverside decking and lawn, and the peaceful setting, all within easy reach of nearby towns and countryside. It is a place that feels genuinely special and different from a typical holiday let, creating stays that guests tend to remember long after they leave.
