Recently renovated preserving the historical and original details of the time, and adding the most modern comforts. "Sunset Tower" is a small building from the end of the 18th century, built on the ruins of a military outpost dating back to the XIII century. Palanzo is a small medieval village located at a height of 600mt on Lake Como, about halfway between Como and Bellagio.
The village, in which less than three hundred inhabitants live, has kept unchanged the charm of past centuries; its narrow alleys connect the houses built mainly in wood and local stone.
Monuments of historical and cultural importance are the Chiesa del Soldo, the old Torchio Monumentale (XVI century) and the Medieval Tower (11th-12th century). Torre and Torchio are both part of the historical and artistic heritage protected by the FAI (Italian Environmental Fund). In addition to your car, in the same parking space there is the bus stop C31 to reach Como or the junction where to take the C30 to Bellagio.
Walking distance from Palanzo you can take the "Strada Regia" that connects different neighboring villages in order to admire the ancient villages.
