We got there late at night and it made it a bit of a challenge, but honestly it was very clean and exactly as is shown in the pictures…the kitchen was well stocked with pans and cooking utensils,etc. it also had a small washer/dryer. The accommodations were not luxury, but at the price being offered compared to other places…it offered very good value…the host was responsive to our messages and accommodated our late night arrival! We had a nice time, he even had a big fan to help dry out clothes/shoes that might get wet while hiking around Isle of Skye!

A quaint property in a quiet place. The Wi-Fi did not really hold and the TV signal was patchy but as we were only there for the night it was not an issue. The shower was great and the bedroom perfect for our needs. The floors could have done with a clean but otherwise it was more than adequate and very peaceful

We had a lovely time. And was so happy to be able to take a bath and relax. Our only issue was small biting gnats that were somehow in the house even though we kept doors and windows closed. But now we know to take spray as we had the same problem at the Dunvegan castle. Just wasn’t something we factored in. This was a nice and quiet space to rest in and we appreciate the hospitality of the host! We would recommend for sure.

It was a really quirky, fun and unique property, and communicating with the host was great. The bed was comfortable, but missing the top sheet. The electrical is weird; the clothes dryer kicked out frequently. Largest complaint with this rental was cleanliness, which was subpar.

The cottage is in a lovely, remote spot with beautiful scenery in the surrounding area. The cottage itself is small and basic, but we enjoyed its quirky character and bold colour scheme! It was fun to stay there with our seven year old for a couple of days.

This place is pretty quirky, with a kitchen plus 2 armchairs and a small table for dining, bathroom and bedroom upstairs with quite a low ceiling. Parking is good. Place warms up quickly, shower is electric and fine, warm water only from kitchen hot tap, so small and compact place with a price to match compared to other places in the immediate area.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage suited our needs, and we appreciated the amenities in the cottage, including the laundry, kitchen and shower facilities. The setting is lovely and quiet, and we enjoyed walking and exploring the village, the stunning views, and finding sea glass by the shore. It definitely suited our budget as we were able to drive into the Isle of Skye, spend the day, and drive back to the cottage for the night, The cottage is also close to Eilean Donan castle which we really enjoyed.

We understood that the property was going to be quirky but didn't expect no heating in bathroom, no hand towels and remnense of Imperial Leather soap on side of the bath. Property had 3 electric heaters, the one located in the entrance did not work. Some kitchen units had old tins of paint in them and there was some personal items. Whilst understanding that it was an old property the level of old cobwebs around windows was excessive. In the bedroom there was nowhere to hang clothing. Couldn't work the kitchen hob even after following the instructions. Was slightly concerned that a neighbour, even though friendly mentioned the number of the key safe. Had there been alternative accommodation near we would not have stayed.

NC500 Overnight Stay

The property was suitable for an overnight stop. Not much in local area, so stock up with whatever you need at Spar in Lochcarron. Although the bedroom can accommodate a family of 3, it's more suited to a couple.

Nice place to stay with easy car access to Skye.

The cottage was great for 2 people with easy access to the sights. Just two notes: 1) The stairs to the bedroom are steep, so be aware of that if you have any mobility issues. 2) The unit smells strongly of cigarettes, for those who may be sensitive.

Railway cottage

Although a bit out of the way for places to eat, the accommodation included a full kitchen so you can cook a meal. Also a washing machine and dryer which was a big plus for us. Stairs quite steep up to bedroom so as we were only staying one night we just took the clothes we needed in a backpack and left suitcase in vehicle or downstairs.
