It had every convenience plus a terrific setting. Very comfortable and private. GPS did not work well in the immediate neighborhood.
The owners were very pleasant and responsive. Call when you are near and they will meet you and open the gate to get in,

What A Fabulous Villa For A Vacation
"This villa is just "Perfect" for a vacation"
To say this upfront... I would recommend this property to anyone ... friend or relative, that would love a perfect getaway.
Lilliana, Enzo and their sons were just wonderful to speak with and would do anything to please.
The Villa is outside a typical Italian town were you can meander, buy your household food, eat with the locals or go out for a typical Italian dinner.
The Villa is on a wonderful secluded road ( with a gate) , on a hill overlooking an enormous grove . You can hear some sounds of civilization, but see no one . You can relax on the enormous patio which surrounds the villa on 3 sides and look out for miles and miles.
The inside of the villa is a home-away-from- home. It is warm, cozy and has everything you would need at your fingertips.
From this location you can get in your car and go visit all the wonderful historic places within an hour or so- depending on how long you spend gazing at the countryside along the way, and then return home to sit on the veranda with a glass of wind and watch the sunset.
When you leave here ... and you really are not going to want to, you will feel that you have just left PARADISE !

A Wonderful Tuscan Villa
We rented both apartments for five nights in June. The setting is private, serene and convenient. The villa is immaculately furnished, stylish and very well maintained. During our stay the outside temperatures were mid 90s F but within the thick stone villa walls it was comfortable. Two nights we prepared our own meals and sat at the large table looking out at the very Tuscan countryside . . . it was perfect. We would certainly highly recommend this property.

Our highlight of our Italy trip was this castle villa
This place will always have a special place in our hearts. When we arrived and the host Enzo greeted us. What a nice man. He was so kind and helpful. My kids were so excited to be able to run around. We had such lovely meals outside overlooking the rolling hills and private countryside views. What a treat it was to stay here. Absolutely fabulous. Thank you Enzo and family for giving us the privilege to stay in your home.

Peaceful retreat in the Tuscan hills
The family has done an excellent job restoring this beautiful property. While in the deep countryside, it's just a couple of minutes to a small village with a market and a few restaurants, but it's so easy to access other historically interesting villages, get into Siena, or just relax on the property. The bedrooms are nicely appointed, the bathroom well done, and the kitchen fully equipped including a few actual serious wine glasses to enjoy your local Chianti, and the local Chianti from some well-known producers is excellent. We stayed in the downstairs part of the house but also viewed the upstairs which is beautiful. A great place to come with 10 friends for a restorative time in a special place.

Heavenly, beautiful, peacefull
The villa is more than I dreamed it would be. Comfortable, fully applianced kitchen, beautiful scenery and so close to Siena - 10 minutes Italian driver; 20 min. American driver! We were there for 3 Septembers - 2014/15/16 that's how much we liked it.
the host family were exceptionally kind and generous. Anyone who spends time there will be the better for it.
We loved every minute.
The house is absolutely beautiful. The hosts are warm and welcoming. Perfect condition - high class. The view from the terrace is stunning, the atmosphere historical and very calm. The perfect place for people who love to enjoy a quality stay in tuscany. We will be back...!

The most beautiful villa I've stayed in to date
We had the pleasure of staying at Podere Lucignano Secondo for four amazing nights in the middle of a long European Extravaganza. This villa provided us with exactly what we needed before tackling Rome and Naples, peace, quiet and serious relaxation. Words cannot describe how beautiful the property and villa actually are. Whatever you expect from the pictures, it will be better. We enjoyed cooking in the very well equipped kitchen. The grounds and surrounding area were beautiful to explore on foot while the rest of Chianti are right at your doorstep only a short drive away. Easy driving in the area. We used the Coop in Rada and Gaiole for a good grocery selection if you plan to cook. We will be back with a larger group in the future.
If you are considering another villa in the area, don't!

Top notch customer service at an amazing property!
My husband and I, along with another couple were extremely happy with our stay at Podere Lucignano Secondo in Chianti, Tuscany. We stayed in "La Mangiatoia" and were very pleased.
This place has so much charm and all of the amenities were there. The owners were very helpful in providing us with a map of places to visit around the area. We enjoyed driving around and immediately fell in love with the area and the property. It was very comfortable and relaxing. The owners take great pride in the property and offer the best customer service we have experienced in a rental property. They are superb! One example, it was raining when we arrived and they met us at the car with umbrellas! The property is everything you could want or ask for.
We highyly recommend splurging on one of the dinner options the family provides, it was out of this world wonderful. We hope to make it back again and rent out the entire property. In the meantime we will talk about this wonderful place to our friends in hopes that they will book this property and experience a piece of heaven as we did!

Vacation Getaway
My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Podere Lucignano Secondo in Chianti, Tuscany. We stayed in "La Mangiatoia" and were very pleased. All of the amenities were there. The owners were very helpful in providing us with a map of places to visit around the area. Our favorite time was just driving around visiting the local places. The train is close by and very convenient to take to Cinque Terra and Florence, places where driving was not easily accessible . The grocery store was only five minutes away by car. We fell in love with the area and the property. It was very comfortable and relaxing.

They made my wedding PERFECT!
I honestly can't describe with words how PERFECT this villa is, but I am going to try.
While searching for a villa to have a small, simple wedding ceremony and stay for a week with our immediately family members, I came across this villa online. I loved that we could rent the entire place and it had a beautiful terrace, perfect for a small ceremony (with only 6 of our family members).
We were a little nervous booking a wedding/vacation location without seeing it in person. As we drove there, I felt like I was going to be sick. I kept thinking.. "Did I just fly my family across the world and book a place that I've never seen in real life to get married? This is going to be disaster!"
But rest assured, when they opened the door and I walked in, my heart filled with joy. It is the most beautiful villa, inside and out. The attention to detail is incredible; stone walls, windows with picturesque views, beautiful decor, cozy fireplaces and so much more. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world that I came across this villa. There was NO better place to spend the week and have my wedding.
Enzo and his 2 sons, Max and Duccio, are some of the most warm and welcoming people I've ever met. They went above and beyond to make sure every detail of my wedding was taken care of. My husband left his suit jacket back in Los Angeles and we didn't realize it until the afternoon of the wedding. Enzo, Max and Duccio were there right away with their own jackets for him to wear. They literally saved the day!
But that's not all… we had a 5-course pasta tasting, prepared by Enzo, Max and Duccio, after the wedding and it was the BEST meal we've ever had. They also had candles on the table, fresh flowers and played Italian music. It was a dream. Not to mention, they even put together my bouquet for the wedding AND printed special menus for the dinner that had our names and wedding date. I was blown away at how incredible it turned out to be. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect or beautiful day.
The week at the villa was the best week of my life. Hands down. Not only me, but every family member there was blown away at the villa and Enzo's family. We can't WAIT to go back and are already planning a friends trip!
Enzo, Max and Duccio -- if you read this, you will always have such a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much! See you again, soon!

wonderful, wonderful!
For the first time in all our travels my husband and I were sad to leave a home away from home. Our week in the 2-bedroom apartment (lower) was very relaxing and after each day's trip to surrounding villages we were so happy to return to this peaceful place. The kitchen had everything we could need, including a panini press! Owner Enzo Rossi and his sons Duccio and Max were perfect hosts. We highly recommend their Tuscan dinner in your unit.....delicious and romantic. The view from the terrace proved to be the best way to start the day with coffee and end it with wine.

A wonderful stay in Tuscany!
The villa was beautiful. Very well located to access small Tuscan towns. We were travelling with another couple and we really enjoyed all the amenities of the villa. Beautiful evenings on the terrace with tremendous views. Many thanks to Enzo and his son for the welcome tour and suggested places to visit. Everything in the villa was to our liking and comfortable. We have recommended this location to our friends and will definitely be back.

Beautifully maintained villa. Perfect setting. We loved having coffee on the terrace and sitting outside in the evening drinking wine. Well equipped, very comfortsble
Very clean, friendly & helpful owners. Not too far from Sienna. Completely tranquil. Exactly what we wanted. Beautiful scenery. Shame there wasn't a pool but at that time of year it would probably have been unnecessary anyway. Would go there again.

Amazing, fully furnished, comfortable and unique
What a pleasant surprise to drive through a gated driveway to this charming restored farm house in the middle of the Chianti region. The accommodations were clean, well maintained and very well designed.
Our hosts were more than accommodating, suggesting restaurants, tours, and general information of the area. It was a quiet location, in the country, and after a hectic start to our trip, we welcomed the serenity. We had a grill to cook on and a fabulous stove in the kitchen, which we put to good use as well.
Day trips included the hot springs, the Castle of Baron de Ricasoli, Sienna, San Gimignano, wine tasting and lots of eating, what else do you do in Italy?
Outdoors was adequately furnished with plenty of space for both units. We spent a lot of time in the garden.
I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a country villa.

Unforgetable memories in Tuscany
If you are planning to travel to Tuscany and are looking for a whole experience, you must stay at Villa Podere Lucignano Secondo Agroturismo. From the moment you are welcomed by the owners, to the time you are leaving (even though it is almost impossible to leave), you feel at home. Everything inside the Villa has a perfect arrangement to make you comfortable and to make your stay unforgettable. Starting with the cozy and comfortable bedrooms, spacious living and dining rooms, a very convenient kitchen, and a view to watch all day long. And if you are lucky, you can even go outside to the apricot tree and bring the fruit ready to eat whenever you want. Imagine breakfast on the patio overlooking the olive trees, or lunch in the garden close to the apricot tree, or dinner inside the house with your lovely family; you will get that and more.
Also, the location is perfect to visit all the beautiful towns in its surroundings. And whichever your destination for the day, you will always enjoy a beautiful view, and the amazing sunflowers that keep following the sun.

Absolutely Perfect!!
We stayed with our 2 children (14/11) at "La Mangiatoia" for 2 wonderful nights on our trip through Italy. The villa was absolutely perfect and the grounds and views around the villa were beautiful! The villa was very clean and wonderfully decorated. We were welcomed very warmly by Enzo's son ( even though we were 1 hour later than expected and got lost thanks to our GPS). The villa immediately felt like "home" and we enjoyed relaxing in between our day trips to nearby towns. The bedrooms and bathroom were gorgeous! The kitchen and dining area were very spacious and had everything we needed to cook a delicious meal. We loved sitting
outside and and looking out over the countryside.
We will definitely recommend this villa to all of our friends and hope to be able to come back and stay again some day. Enzo and his 2 sons met us on the day we checked out and were all so nice. Thank you for such a fantastic time!

Beautiful Villa in idyllic setting
This is a totally lovely apartment. The "yellow" bedroom perhaps the prettiest room I have ever slept in. Enzo and his two sons were helpful, although I must confess that I found the extra charges for add-ons (coffee capsules, wood, heating etc), a little confronting.
Visitors to this property should know that you must have a car; there is pretty much nowhere to go for walks although the countryside looks so inviting. The roads are narrow and winding, and driving is not particularly easy. Siena is very close, and there are many interesting nearby places to visit.

A Very Special Villa
We were very impressed by this Villa. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and found it to be spacious and uniquely designed. It was immaculately clean and was even more attractive than it appeared in the photos. We really enjoyed the privacy of the incredible views of the surrounding landscapes. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would love to stay here again and maybe next time rent the entire Villa.

Best Location near Siena !
Herzlichen Dank !

About the host
Hosted by Liliana Sartini Rossi
I was born in Siena and I live in Tuscany with my Family, my husband and my sons. This Villa is our family job since many years: it was bought by my father around the middle of the last century and now is part of our life.
Why they chose this property
My sons grew up in this villa, my father worked the land and took care of the garden together with my mother. This location is part of our life, with the tranquility and silence typical of Chianti. Now I hope that my Guests can enjoy the same rural relaxing times.
What makes this property unique
Unique and elegant furnishings, stone walls and warm lighting give a high quality stay experience. The villa is the typical rural house of the Tuscan countryside. The large garden and terrace overlooking the vineyards and hills allow you to relax at sunset, perhaps with an excellent glass of Chianti wine. And in winter in front of the fireplace ...
