HISTORY “The storey of Silvestro Soldà was collected and published at a time when the strangeness of certain events threatened to relegate it to the realm of legend, even though, taken as a whole, it still appeared to be a historical account. According to local tradition, the adventurer, after amassing a fortune in the wars against the Turks, returned to Vigo di Fassa, his native village: where, having purchased a house in 1533, he had restored and embellished it by having the Sultan’s menagerie painted on its walls. It is further said that, when the local people one day collected metal to cast a new bell, Soldà’s wife—while he was away—contributed, whether out of ignorance, holy zeal, or both, a priceless solid silver object that her husband had jealously guarded as the crown jewel of his spoils. This irreparable loss would have driven him, in a fit of rage, to kill his wife, had he not been persuaded by others that his silver would ensure a successful casting: and in fact, the sound of the bell—which had been cast perfectly—resounded so pure that the Soldà, proud to take credit for it and delighted to have given his fellow villagers an enduring memento of himself, willingly forgave his wife. The narrative retains all the characteristics of a true storey; and, moreover, there is no shortage of evidence.” (From “Studi Trentini di scienze storiche—Year 1934”—Nicolò Rasmo) “Reverse Hunt,” ground-floor atrium, southwest wall. Date: 16th century, second half. Artist: David Solbach (?). Half-fresco painting. The entire floor features allegorical scenes of hunting in reverse: an ox disembowels a bear, a hen pecks at a fox, a sheep tears a wolf to pieces, two hares maul a dog while a third carries one on its back. "Wars Against the Turks," ground-floor atrium, northwest wall. Date: 1575. Artist: David Solbach (?). Half-fresco painting. The wall opposite the entrance door depicts a procession of victorious Turks returning from a raid. Details: In the hilly landscape serving as the backdrop

Very charming accomodation
It's a great old house, great flair. Very well kept, spacious and quiet. The only thing - there are not really five sleeping rooms, there are four real sleeping rooms. The couch is in the living room in the middle of the apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay there!

Roomy but little bit old
Apartment is spacious, kitchen is great and owners are nice. However apartment is quite old. As it seems it was renovated not so recently aand a lot of stuff is broken (lights, electrical outlets, shutters, washing mashine). Beds are basic. It is not well isolated therefore the apartment becomes cold very fast and it is quite easy to hear neighbors.
Apartment location is isolated from any lively place.
I would recommend this apartment for people that need a lot of space but I would not recommend it if you want comfort or be not far from a center.

Great family accommodation
This was an ideal apartment for our family of 8 adults and 2 children under 2 years old. The rooms are all large - both bedrooms and bathrooms.
It was well appointed and just a few minutes walk from a supermarket. There were also several good bars and restaurants in the area.
The owner was readily available to answer queries and help us with any difficulties. We would happily stay here again if we were planning another holiday in the area.

Großzügige Wohnung in herrlicher Umgebung

Good location and nice supportive hosts
The appartment is nicely and quitely located in the very small village Viggo di Fassa. The appartment was clean and spacious. We did not appreciate the beds and the pillows, in some rooms the beds were better. The kitchen is spacious and easily hosts 10 people around the table. We missed a desent set of wine glasses and some better kitchen equipment (for example better pots and pans - the ones provided suffered from bad treatment), and the appartment would have been eaven cosier had there been carpets, a nice and comfortable sofa sofa table and armchairs available. All in all we had a good time, and the hosts were friendly and easy to reach.
