Thanks for such a positive review. We try very hard to make the cottage a little oasis for guests so it means a lot to us to receive such feedback/reviews.
About the host
Hosted by Peter Preston
Peter is originally from Wirral, England, but is a long-time resident of Scotland. Seeing guests enjoy the cottage and encouraging them to enjoy the lovely area we are so lucky to live in is what makes hosting so rewarding.
Mhairi is a native Aberdonian, and after a career in recruitment he made the switch to hospitality and now manages a large family owned country hotel, and occasionally helps with the cottage.
Jack is a big friendly golden doodle who thinks he's the real host and loves to welcome all of our guests.
Why they chose this property
This location provides the best of the north east of Scotland; a short drive from the coast or mountains, and surrounded by woodlands, fields and lochs & rivers. A half hour drive takes you into Aberdeen or Dundee, with their commercial and cultural attractions.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is self-contained and furnished with a combination of modern conveniences and genuine vintage items, giving it a warm yet feel which is both nostalgic and on trend. It has it's own fenced garden and is nestled within 4 acres of private property, which is surrounded by fields and woodland - all accessible for walks. The verandah allows for outdoor eating and acts as a boot room for wet wellies, coats and dogs, or just somewhere to have you morning coffee or evening glass of wine sheltered from the weather. During the autumn/winter months we are lucky to be well located to watch the northern lights (aurora borealis) when they make an appearance.
