This corner apartment is about 7 steps below ground level with very high ceilings. There are lots of windows and natural light, but the windows are opaque so you can't see out. But this is helpful for privacy as the windows are right next to the sidewalks. The immediate neighborhood is run down and unpleasant, but on the up side the streets were quiet. If you walk a few blocks in the right direction, the neighborhood becomes more pleasant.
The sofa turns into a bed in the living room, and there is a small bed in the loft - above the bed in the bedroom. We were here in July and the air conditioners worked, but that upper bed space was still quite warm. if you use the fan up there it would probably help, but the fan bothered my kid who was sleeping up there (and the heat didn't bother him).
The entrance to the bathroom is through the bedroom. The shower in the bathroom is small to the point of being unpleasant.
The apartment is clean, bright, and pleasant to be in. We cooked some meals here, and it was cramped with four of us, but probably would have worked well with two people.
Maruizio was nice and met us to show us the apartment. The apartment is close to the subway station, which was definitely a bonus.
