About this property
Barn Cottage With Stunning Views Of The Cairngorm Mountains And Local Wildlife.
This cottage is ideally suited for a couple as it has a double bedroom. We do also have a travel cot for infants if requested in advance.
Downstairs shower room with shower, hand basin and WC. There is a well equipped kitchen area in the main living room with cooker, microwave, fridge and all cooking utensils for 3 people. Shared use of washing machine, iron, ironing board and drying room suitable for drying clothes and outdoor gear. Lounge contains 3 seater sofa and armchair. Dining area has table with 4 chairs and TV. Well stocked bookcase. Original paintings on the walls. Plentiful information on local activities and walks. All bedding is included and 4 towels per cottage. For guests staying longer than a week these are changed as agreed, usually on a weekly basis.
The main thing our guests comment on is the setting at the foothills of the Monadhliath mountains with views over the Cairngorms. We are located above the village so these can be enjoyed in peace and quiet. In the foreground are sheep and lambs, as we are in a crofting area, together with lapwings, curlews, oyster catchers and hares. But also our guests also find the cottages well equipped, warm and comfortable, which is reflected in our 2019 3* rating (not graded since). The majority of our guests come to walk or bike, which can be done from the door. The Newtonmore wildcat trail is only 200m from the house. And there is an unlimited number of local walks and rides.
We have 2 other cottages on site for bigger groups.
