About the host

I moved to Pembrokeshire from Sussex in 1992 to marry my husband who was born and grew up here. We have one grown up daughter who is training to be an Architect.

After decades of travelling in the UK and overseas, for both work and holidays, we decided that we would use our experience to provide others with good quality accommodation for their holidays and short breaks in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

We love meeting our guests and getting to know a little bit about them so we can make appropriate recommendations for their visits. Let us know what you like to do and we will do our best to help you get the most from your stay with us.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the Coach House (along with its semi-detached neighbour, the Barn) because we fell in love with them both when we saw them. Sometimes you walk into a property and it just feels "right" - that was exactly what happened with these 2 cottages. We loved them instantly so we decided to buy them.

My husband grew up in Neyland and his father was the fish merchant in Milford Haven in the days when the town had a very large and thriving fishing industry. Buying the cottages for guests to stay in and enjoy seemed very appropriate given the family connection with the town.

We spent 6 months refurbishing them into the cottages you see today. Our motto is "Environmentally Responsible" so we hunted high and low for very good quality pre-loved furniture. Beds and sofas are brand new but the majority of the remaining furniture has come to us from another home. Much of it has been sanded and hand-oiled to give it a new lease of life.

What makes this property unique

The location of the cottage is perfect for families, or 2 or 3 couples who want to have a very comfortable base in Pembrokeshire from which to explore and experience all that the county has to offer. It is perfectly located just north of the River Cleddau meaning that guests are never more than 20-30 minutes from anywhere in Pembrokeshire: from the sandy beaches and towns of Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth in the south, to the beaches and rugged cliffs of Newgale, Druidston, and Carfai Bay, the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy or the beautiful city of St Davids.

After a day enjoying Pembrokeshire you can return to the cottage and relax for the evening either having a meal delivered, a BBQ outside or perhaps wandering down to the Marina for supper in one of the restaurants overlooking the water. The north bank of the River Cleddau at this point has several excellent places to eat and most are family and dog-friendly. As the river mouth faces west, the evening can be spent enjoying some stunning sunsets whilst sipping an ice cold beer or glass of wine.
