After a day of discovering the countryside, retreat to the Forge for a glass of wine & cook dinner on the gas BBQ or sit in front of the wood burning stove while the kids play tennis. Garden, fine cotton bedding & views. Dog-friendly.

Why they chose this property

We bought the Forge in 2016 and have been blown away by the beauty and tranquillity of this unexplored corner of Britain. In summer we paddle in the upper Coquet and barbecue in the garden. In the winter we snowshoe in the Cheviots and stargaze. In the spring and autumn we walk in the empty hills and beaches returning to the Forge for a soak in the bath and to read by the fire. Northumberland, its history and atmosphere never fails to enchant us
