Great Location!

It was located on a quiet street that was in walking distance to many areas of Kyoto or to close bus stops to get to other places.

We really enjoyed this home. We had some trouble at check in trying to locate the home however the host was easy to connect with and was able to direct us to the house. We needed an extra futon set up and the host had it done before we arrived. The house was very clean and quiet. There are three good sized rooms and both bathrooms were well appointed. There is a kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer. The kitchen has everything you would need for a few days stay.

Beautiful and traditional home situated in a great location - about 15 minutes walking to Kiyomizu-dera. Théo greeted us kindly and provided some great restaurant recommendations nearby. If you're staying with a larger group, definitely stay at Enso-an!

This is a beautiful property that is well managed and immaculately clean. The location is excellent – a 20 minute walk from Gion and 15 minutes to Kiyomiza-dera. It was built in a traditional Japanese Zen style but is updated with modern conveniences. There is a real sense of place and character. Communication with the manager was prompt and clear. The neighborhood was quiet. This is a reasonably priced location for all it offers, and we would not hesitate to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! The location is fantastic—just a pleasant 15-minute walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. We enjoyed visiting three times during our trip (early morning, late morning, and at night) to soak in the beautiful autumn foliage at different times of day. The area is convenient yet wonderfully quiet, which made our stay even more relaxing. The property had everything we needed and felt very comfortable. We would highly recommend it!Although we checked in late and didn’t meet the host in person, she provided excellent instructions and checked in with us to make sure we were settled. Her communication was thoughtful and very much appreciated.Overall, an amazing stay—we’d happily come back!

Dream home!

Enso-an is a beautiful place to stay! The home is lovely, and had more space than we could use. Due to all the wood, it smells like heaven when you walk in! The beds were very comfortable, the washer/ dryer worked perfectly. The water pressure was amazing - seems silly to mention, but we had some chilly weather, so coming home to a great shower or (very deep) bath was a real treat. The whole vibe of this home was wonderful. It was well stocked with all supplies. It has a nearby Lawson, and the bus stop is close by. Easy to get to everywhere, and close to many things that we wanted to see. This was our favourite stay of the Japan trip. We did have a couple days over the weekend with no response from the host, but we were not asking a pressing question. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the home after check out so that we could squeeze in a couple more Kyoto sights before heading back to Tokyo, which was really very helpful. We would %100 stay again at this dream! Highly recommend!
