Renovated modern traditional house 5mins-walk from station "Uan/Kaze"

"Uan" is a charming cluster of 5 houses surrounding a quiet courtyard. This is one of the newly renovated modern traditional houses, "Uan/Kaze". The house was built more than 100 years ago and recently renovated for a vacation home. The house still has an old atmosphere of Kyoto and provides the latest furnishings. It is fully furnished and all necessary appliances will be provided.

The Kaze (風) House is a fully renovated 60 m2 house. There is the full kitchen(cookware, dinnerware, seasonings, a microwave, a toaster oven, a rice cooker, a hot water kettle and more), full bathroom with a separated toilet, washing machine/dryer, washing detergent, utilities, and home appliances. Of course, fresh bed/bath linen and toothbrush are provided. There are two bedrooms. 3 single bed and 1 extra single bed in the western style bedroom, and 1 double bed and 2 futon sets in the tatami room.

Located in 5 minutes walk from Higashiyama station in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto.

The Higashiyama area is considered the most Kyoto like place in Kyoto. If you are interested in temples, the most prestigious Zen temple in Japan called Nanzen-ji is near the house. Also, Heian shrine, Shoren-in, Chion-in and Yasaka shrine are within a 5-10 minute walk from the houses. You can also walk to Gion area to the downtown in Kyoto.

Enjoyed the stay thoroughly, very clean and organised property. Had everything we needed with plenty of space for all of us. It is a short walk to the subway and main lines, Kyoto zoo and temples. Lots of restaurant or convenience store options also close by. If we return to Kyoto Uan Kaze will be our first choice.

Wonderful stay with great hospitality

We were welcomed in person and walked through how to work the systems of the property, everything was clean and ready for us, Mika was very nice and helpful. Location is a couple minute walk to the bus stop, close proximity to Gion and a few bus stops away from Kiyomizu-dera temple. Highly recommend for groups.

Wonderful property and host—highly recommend!

The host was very responsive and helpful. Thank you! And the home was very comfortable. The location was perfect for sightseeing. We walked to many areas and also took buses and metros that were nearby. The beds were very comfortable and were had plenty of space and supplies. I highly recommend it!

Great House in Kyoto

Our group really enjoyed our stay at this house in Higashiyama! The owner and his assistant are very nice and extremely helpful/responsive. We were traveling from the US and they made the whole process much easier, which we greatly appreciated. They are some of the best hosts we've had in Japan. The house itself is very nice and clean, and had everything we needed. The beds are comfy, the shower has really good water pressure, and the neighborhood is very historical and charming. It's also not very far from the nearest train station and bus stops, and there is a Lawson and other shopping close by. We would all absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend this house to other groups!
