We have enjoyed staying here our vacation!!
Very easy to access to all transportation and very convenient to do anything!! Good Location to go anywhere to Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara areas.
Super Recommend this place!!
Definitely come back to here and this place is our 2nd home in Japan!!
This place was amazing!! I loved the traditional Japanese feel but with all the modern updates. Well located, a short walk from Higashimayama station. You can walk to shrines, the main river, shopping, etc.
I would recommend to anyone and would stay again.
This was a beautiful Japanese style home in the very heart of Kyoto. Location would be very hard to beat. My family really enjoyed the home. The owner was very communicative and helpful!
Vety clean with comfortable futons. Gorgeous home in traditional style in a peaceful area of higashiyama close to metro, near a pretty canal and walkable to nany sights and places in kyoto/Gion.
This apartment is beautiful and newly renovated in the traditional style. We walked to shopping downtown and also to shrines in the mountain lowlands. Please note that the bedding is on the floor on mats and not a typical western mattress.
The house is amazing with tatami and futon bedrooms and modern appliances! It was extremely clean and comfortable, and Matuda is an excellent and extremely responsive host. He answers emails quickly (I got confused on how to turn hot water on—turn on the power button on rectangular appliances in bathtub and next to kitchen sink). A temple is located behind the house and it’s so nice to stroll along the river and dip our feet in the river at the end of the day. One of our best vrbo rentals!
Sublime experience, from the helpful host through to the location this was more than we could have hoped. Three good size bedrooms, a lovely bathroom and two toilets. Easy to cook and eat and be social as a family. The highlight was the location, far enough away from the big tourist areas to ge chaotic, but close enough to restaurants and super markets and to some temples and shrines we would never have seen if we hadn’t just wondered around. Recommend the Tofu restaurant around the corner. The host was so helpful and always available- including helping to convince the taxi driver we didn’t need a hotel! We used the metro after that as the stop was just around a corner. We hope to be back one day!!!
We really enjoyed the location of this property. It was a short walk from Maruyama park and easily accessible from two train/subway lines. You could walk to the Philosophers path and Ginkakuji to the northeast as well as the Higashiyama district and Kiyomizudera to the southeast. There was a small grocery store not far away.
The property was large and could easily fit 6 people. The rooms are all tatami mat with futons for sleeping. It was quiet and clean. The kotatsu (table) had a sunken area where you put your feet. It could be hard for those with limited mobility to reach the far side.
The kitchen was perfectly adequate for our needs, and the host left tea and coffee which were appreciated. We also appreciated the umbrellas which we used every day. The host gave us very clear directions on how to get to the property. We had a lovely visit.
Un appartement japonais de trois chambres (lits tatami !), bien situé, fort calme et agréable et délicieusement agencé. Très bons contacts avec Matuda, sa charmante propriétaire.
