Gaffers Cottage - sleeps 12 guests in 5 bedrooms

Gaffers cottage has been upgraded over the years and still retains many of the original features, character and charm with exposed beams, brickwork and wall ties.

There is a well-equipped kitchen with a range cooker and a breakfast area that opens into a generous dining room. The living room opens onto a sunny patio. Our large garden is bounded and divided by old walls and railings into three distinct areas with BBQ, lawns, courtyard and play areas. This property is ideal for a large family or group of friends to enjoy time away to relax and unwind or enjoy a special occasion.

Just wonderful

This is our 4th year returning to Spixworth Hall cottages and Gaffers cottage .We love it. We choose January when things are quieter and the snowdrops are opening and it reminds us that Spring will return. Its a perfect space to gather with friends and family or all ages. The facilities are very good and we love exploring the grounds and deer spotting. The customer service is excellent and everyone is always friendly and helpful. We hope to return again and again.

A gem of a holiday cottage

For a reunion of 14 friends and family Gaffers Cottage is ideal. The play barn is huge and in the grounds the play area, tennis court and walks through the snowdrops made it the perfect destination. It's close to Norwich Airport- we could see the aircraft coming and going on our walks around the estate which the kids loved-moreover we used the airport park and ride to get into Norwich itself. Gaffers comes with a piano, a modern well equipped kitchen, accessible downstairs bathroom and all the rooms in this rambling property were comfortable and spotless. When we stayed the February weather was grim so we lit the log burner and played board games - it felt like Christmas.

Wedding weekend

We had 11 guests staying in Gaffers for our wedding and everyone absolutely loved it, you'd thought of everything to make our weekend so special. We all had such a fantastic weekend and can't thank you enough. The pool, games room and fishing lake were an added bonus.

We recently got married at Spixworth Barns and hired all of the cottages out for our family. We had a wonderful stay there. Jack, Sheelah and Kim were a fantastic support with the booking process to showing us around the cottages and hiring out the barns. I definitely recommend all of their properties. Thank you guys

Amaxing location for a fabulous family getaway in Norfolk

Great location, perfect that it’s on private land so lovely and quiet. Gaffers Cottage is great as we have family and friends join us during our week. So lovely to have the swimming pool close by, a well stocked fishing lake and all the field and footpath walks at our fingertips. Not far from Cromer or Mudesley, and The dog loved it too, she’s never had so many walks. Sheelah, Jack and Kim are always happy to help if we have any questions. A wonderful place and we’ll be back again next year.

Gaffers cottage

Absolutely loved our stay, Sheelah and Jack were perfect hosts. The cottage was lovely and we all slept very well. Wonderful place to stay

Everything about our booking with Spixworth Hall Cottages was outstanding. Both before and after our stay, the communication with Kim was wonderful - she was kind, very responsive and welcoming. The information we received about the facilities and the booking platform that we could access once we had reserved were great. Several members of the group arrived easily by public transport from the centre of Norwich; the instructions for drivers were also very clear. Gaffers Cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean and cosy despite the cold, and our group (three families) enjoyed long walks on the estate, spotting deer, birds and snowdrops that were a welcome sign of spring on the way. The kids loved the play barn, and the grown ups enjoyed pool and darts in the evenings. The kitchen was very well-equipped, making cooking for our large group more manageable. A special thanks as well to the team for kindly arranging the return of a left-behind item. We hope to return to Spixworth Hall Cottages in future, and would recommend booking with them wholeheartedly.

We had an excellent break. House and grounds were brilliant. Only thing that could do with improvement was the games rooms - the kids one would really benefit from some new equipment as the only thing that really was in good condition was the air hockey. Adult games room was similar - some new table tennis rackets would been great. Otherwise the whole place is absolutely brilliant!

Perfect Stay at Gaffers Cottage

Our family had the most wonderful week staying at Spixworth Hall Cottages over Easter. Gaffers Cottage comfortably accommodated 9 adults and 5 young children and the hosts are so attentive and lovely. The good weather meant we made the most of the grounds, the on-site play park, playbarn, fishing lake and swimming pool, and even managed some adult only time in the games room on some of the evenings. It is our second visit and holds a special place in our hearts. We will be back!
