Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The approach to this property is via an unmade track.. Recently refurbished, Seaview is a traditional detached cottage located in a traditional Scottish clachan that has been fully renovated whilst retaining many of its original features, creating a wonderful holiday home that offers contemporary living with a true ‘cottage’ feel. It is located in the tranquil village of Corrie in an elevated position, otherwise known as ’High Corrie’. The property is accessed via a narrow, steep, but well maintained lane and offers stunning sea views across the Firth of Clyde and up into the mountains. Please note the final approach to the cottage is an uneven road but there is space to leave a car before the right fork.
The cottage was originally owned by a local sculptor, and this is evident in the many features designed into the original stone walls and the unique staircase carved in the shape of ocean waves. The stairs have a right-angle turn, with a handrail on only one side, and are open for the bottom four steps. It was previously the home of famed Scottish colourist John MacLauchlan Milne. The kitchen area has all the appliances required, along with a dining table and chairs for family and friends to dine together. The living area enjoys sea views and has large comfy sofas, while the wood burner provides an attractive focal point set in the stone wall and creates a cosy atmosphere on cooler evenings.
There is a double and a twin bedroom both with traditional low ceilings, with an additional sofa bed in the living space offering flexible sleeping arrangements. Wardrobes and drawers have been built into the rafters, making maximum use of the storage space. Velux windows bring in plenty of natural light and a roll-top bath offers the perfect way to relax following a day’s walking.
Outside in the garden there are lovely views of the sea and mountains, and it is a restful place to relax in the sun or enjoy an al fresco meal at the picnic table whilst taking in the views and listening to the burn that runs down the side of the garden.
Seaview is located in the peaceful conservation village of Corrie, yet is only 6 miles away from the main village of Brodick. Corrie has a children’s play park and a hotel serving good food and drink to the public, offering regular live music and a stunning seaside beer garden. The renowned local fish bar and deli, which serves locally sourced seafood, is less than a mile’s walk away. For walking enthusiasts, the cottage is at the start of the Corrie route up the island’s highest peak, Goatfell. A 5-minute drive away in Sannox you will find the Corrie Golf Club, which has a lovely tea room and a sandy beach. Seaview is an idyllic spot to relax and get away from it all—peaceful but close to amenities—and is a great base for your Arran holiday. Pub and restaurant ½ mile.

We had a fantastic week at Seaview, I can honestly say it is the nicest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in! The cottage is so warm, cosy, comfortable and peaceful, with amazing views out to sea. We have booked to return next March and can’t wait to be back! Thank you also for the lovely welcome pack, we really enjoyed the treats!

We arrived at Seaview cottage to a basket of free gifts from lots of local suppliers, that was a lovely way to start off our honeymoon. The cottage was very clean and well layed out with everything we needed. there was lots of information on local attractions and everything is within a short drive of Seaview. The hotel at Corrie just a short walk is wonderful and we'd definitely recommend the venison! Take a torch with you though as the walk back is dark along the path to the cottage. All in all we loved it

A comfortable and well equipped cottage in a peaceful location.
A comfortable and well equipped cottage in a peaceful location. Sadly let down by the difficulty in getting the heating to work….the cottage was very cold in the evenings. The instructions for the heating in the guest information folder bore no relation to the control units on the wall, it’s as though the heating controls have been updated but the instructions haven’t. Two previous guests had made similar comments in the comments book, so not sure why the issue hasn’t been resolved.
