Welcome to April Cottage, a charming retreat steeped in history and warmth, featuring a private seasonal heated swimming pool and a fabulous all-season hot tub. This Grade II listed, cob-built thatched cottage, dating back to 1721, offers a cosy escape in Hordle—nestled between Lymington and Milford on Sea - with New Forest National Park a stones throw away

Step inside to a sunny entrance hall with timber door, leading to a delightful sitting room with exposed beams and a lovely south-facing view of the gardens and pool.

The farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area is fully equipped, with handmade oak units, a spacious table for eight, and a Rayburn range. A stable door opens to the front garden and the heated pool (available May–September).

On the ground floor, a comfortable bedroom with built-in storage opens to the garden courtyard and hot tub. An adjacent fully tiled wet room ensures easy access for all guests.All bedrooms also have their own ensuite bathrooms

A separate utility room offers space for pet beds, laundry, drying facilities, and a separate freezer.

Upstairs, three cosy bedrooms each feature a private en-suite bathroom and plenty of storage.

Outside, enjoy the courtyard with hot tub, a poolside deck with dining table and chairs for eight, and a built-in charcoal BBQ. Soak up the sun on loungers or take a dip in the pool (open May–September).

Conveniently located next to a Budgens store and filling station, April Cottage invites you to unwind and create lasting memories in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

The property is in a residential area and we ask that guest are considerate of our neighbours in regards noise. We have quiet hours from 2200 to 0800 with no outside noise, and the swimming pool and hot tub are closed for use during this time. Pool is open between May and the End of September

We do not accept Stag or Hen parties - nor allow more than the number of booked guest to use the property without prior agreement.

Lovely house, extremely well appointed and in a nice quiet area. Don't worry about the petrol station next door it didn't disturb us at all! Hot tub was a pleasant bonus too. 10/10 would stay again.

Very good traditional thatched roof cottage just outside Lymington lounge and kitchen were very good and bedrooms nice with some quite small. outside pool was a good size and heated which was very welcome BBQ was handy and hot tub was available although we did not use it Location was great for all the attractions All in all very good

Lovely family holiday at April Cottage

We had a lovely family holiday at April Cottage. We couldn’t have wanted more - a wonderful house, pool and hot tub. It was well equipped for 8 people and very comfortable. The communications with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. I would definitely stay again.

Relaxing Stay

A beautiful property in a great location. 10 mins drive to wonderful beaches and walks. Equally easy to access the New Forest. A couple of shops in the village and 5 mins drive to Tesco. A childrens playground over the road and even an outdoor gym in the playing fields. The pool was great to cool down in the nice weather and just right for our 6 year old. Our hosts were great. Available if needed and happy to address any questions or problems.

Family Break

Four bedrooms, five bathrooms. Secure, enclosed garden. Made for a fantastic venue for our family gathering with dogs. It would have been nice to have been forewarned about the proximity of the petrol station. Some bedroom doors could do with adjusting so they could be closed. We were very grateful for the delivery of a table top cooker when we had issues with the range cooker. We would happily go back.

Fantastic place for our family get together. Great location on the edge of New Forest, 10 minutes from the sea at Milford, and 5 minutes from big supermarkets in New Milford.The cottage is over 300 years old, so expect low beams and latch doors, but 4 double bedrooms all with en suite were very comfy. We found the ground floor cosy but still big enough to spread out, and with the 2 doors out to the garden the kids just loved indoor/outdoor living, with plenty of space for them to run around outside.The kitchen was great for us as we could all fit round the table but 8 large adults cooking a Sunday lunch might find it bit busy (but there's great pubs in the vicinity, so not sure thats a problem....).And then there is the pool, which is heated enough to be fine for our little ones, but who all fairly soon wanted to warm up in the hot tub, which was just perfect, especially for us adults.The owners were really helpful (not that we needed much help).Overall we had the best time, and would definitely return again.

Amazing Mini Break!

I booked a mini break for myself and 4 adult children, staying for 3 nights. I have to say April Cottage is a stunning property in a great location. The property is well maintained, clean and has everything you need, a real home from home. It is a real country cottage with oak beams and low ceilings and doorways, which are all clearly marked, just remember to duck! The pool and hot tub were fantastic, they were in use daily, there were even a variety of inflatables which we could use. The garden is great and private, not overlooked at all. I cannot fault the communication with Julia & James, they were excellent with everything. The check in/check out process was easy. The cottage is next door to a petrol station which we didn’t find an issue, if anything it was helpful for groceries and also as a landmark for when we ventured out.Overall an exceptional experience and we most definitely will be booking April Cottage again.Worth every single penny

Excellent stay at April Cottage

I rented April cottage for a long weekend in November to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday. Communications with the owner, Julia, were excellent with very fast responses. The house easily accommodated 7 adults and a 2 year old. It is in a very good standard of decoration. We did have a technical issue while we were there and the owners responded immediately to address the problem. Excellent focus on customer service. Beds are comfortable though because of low ceilings on the 1st floor had to use GF showers as couldn't stand up in our bath. That was a minor inconvenience. The cottage is next to a petrol station (not 24 hrs) on a roundabout - there was no issue of noise and it was very handy to get provisions. The only thing to watch out for are the low beams and door openings - one doorway in particular needed careful attention. Overall an excellent experience and recommended.
