About this property
Pass the Keys | Luxury 5 bedroom Riverside home in town centre
About this space
The Anchorage is located on the banks of the River Severn in the centre of the historic town of Shrewsbury with its medieval back streets and timber-framed buildings, quaint back street boutiques and cafes. The Anchorage is well-appointed, unique, and stylish, with its own gym. Set over five floors offering spacious accommodation with fantastic views over the River Severn and Shrewsbury town, the perfect escape for you to relax with family and friends.
The space
Entering the property, small stairs will lead you down into a spacious fully equipped kitchen breakfast room and large larder with plenty of storage, cosy snug with fire which leads out onto a large patio area with an outside dining area, overlooking the Kingsland Bridge and River Severn to enjoy those morning coffees. The snug leads to a dining area that will seat eight.
On the first floor is a large comfortable living area, again with views over the River and an office for those needed to work from home, while away from home.
On the second floor, there are two double bedrooms, both with king-size beds. The spacious master bedroom benefits from an ensuite bathroom with bath and separate shower. There is also a second bedroom with king-size bed, both rooms have plenty of storage.
On the top floor, there are a further three bedrooms all with double beds and two having working space also. There is a large family bathroom, with large bath and separate shower.
At the front of the property there is parking for two cars and there is plenty of free parking on the street.
The outside terrace leads down to a garden, which leads out onto the river bank, where we have fishing rights.
Guest access
The whole of the house and garden is available for guests to enjoy.
Other things to note
High chair and cot are available to hire at £10 each for your stay. Please remember to bring your own bedding.
Supermarkets
We have a Tesco express and M&S Foodhall, a 10-minute walk from the house in the town centre. For bigger supermarkets, we have a Sainsbury's and a large M&S Food Hall, all about a 10 minutes drive in the car.
Local Restaurants
There are so many but here are some we like. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town, this is a short drive out of the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. The Olive Tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury are always firm favourites, along with Cote. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and not forgetting The Market Hall, where you can eat and shop for local produce.
Local Attractions
The house is located right in the centre of the historic town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has over 600 listed buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing. If you go straight across the road from the front door you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on go to visitshropshir.co.uk. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. Attingham park is part of the National Trust and the Shropshire hills, an Area of Natural Beauty and are only a short drive away,
Key Selling Points
