About this property
Cosy cottage in the heart of Mumbles, sleeps two with sea view
Nestled on the steps of Dickslade, one of the oldest and quirkiest lanes in Mumbles, No.1 is a romantic and cosy one bedroom fisherman's cottage.
With a perfectly framed sea view from the bedroom and only moments from the seafront, No.1 is ideally situated to explore Mumbles and the surrounding areas.
Check-in from 3pm Check-out by 10am
The Space: A lovely open plan living and kitchen area awaits you, with original beams and a exposed stone fireplace and wood burning stove (winter use only, beginning of October to end of March).
Comfortable seating for two, TV with DVD player, Freeview channels, Netflix (please remember your log-in details). There is also a Roberts digital radio for your use. In the chest of drawers by the window you will find a selection of games, DVD's and books and are happy for you to swap one of your holiday reads if you see something you fancy.
A cute little kitchen area with a two ring halogen hob, oven and fridge with freezer compartment. Don't forget to 'duck' as you step down in to the tiny scullery, with a little Belfast sink and draining area. Toaster, crockery and baskets for utensils and storage.
Open tread stairs lead you up to a light filled romantic bedroom with a view over the bay.
PLEASE NOTE that the stairs are narrow and reasonably steep and therefore unsuitable for people with mobility issues.
A comfortable double bed with a chest of drawers and a built in wardrobe gives you plenty of storage. Tucked away in the wardrobe you'll find a hair dryer and steam iron and a counter top ironing board.
Pretty glazed doors lead in to the en-suite bathroom with a pretty vintage vanity unity, loo and corner shower.
Parking: There is some free parking directly next to the cottage outside the George restaurant, which is on a first come, first served basis. However if your lucky to get a spot, you can leave it there for the duration of your stay. Definitely worth keeping an eye on the spaces every day!
There is also some free street parking on the main road and a pay and display car park right across the road from the cottage.

A great little cottage within easy walking distance of all the amenities. Samantha was very helpful and easy to deal with, and we would not hesitate to stay there again or to reccomend it to others. 5 stars all round.
The cottage is a brilliant base for a trip to The Mumbles and for exploring The Gower. The weather was awful but Sam gave us some great tips for things to do locally, and the cottage was cosy despite the rain!
There was everything we needed for our stay and the welcome tray was a lovely touch.
My husband and I chose this cottage as our base for a few days of walking in the Gower Peninsula. The cottage is well situated for walking around Mumbles with its many restaurants and shops, and is an easy drive to the various walks we chose to do. The cottage is just as described, and is very clean, and well equipped. It was lovely and comfortable for the 2 of us. Communication with the host was excellent. There was a welcome basket of Welsh cakes, crisps, Gower Coffee, and 2 kinds of tea. We were always able to get a free parking spot in the car park across from the Dickslade steps. It was definitely busier at the weekend. We would highly recommend a stay here! (as long as you're comfortable with the steps) We look forward to a return visit.

About the host
Hosted by Sam Ward-Jones
Having lived in Mumbles for most of my life, I returned home in my mid-twenties after several years living away. However, the call of the sea was always there, and I knew it was where I wanted to settle. Nothing beats idyllic summers spent on the beaches of Langland and Caswell and that’s what I wanted for my family.
After being diagnosed with a life-changing illness over six years ago, my family motto is now “loving and living life”, which we try and live up to as much as day-to-day life allows. A vital part of this is travelling as much as is financially possible and enjoying some really great experiences with friends and family. Life is all about “making memories”!
We live in a beautiful part of Wales, which I’m very proud to call home and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do.
