About this property
Chalet with large fenced garden at the foot of the dunes, pets allowed
Maison Mimosa is a charming and pleasantly furnished house for max. 6 people located 2 km from the center of Mimizan-Bourg, in a calm and green atmosphere in the middle of the Landes forests, with a magnificent view of the Golf de Mimizan and the dunes of the Atlantic coast.
With its typical character, charming and comfortable interior and and its spacious garden, the house is an ideal place to spend your holidays: calm around the house, the ocean, the lake and the forest nearby and lots of possibilities for nearby sports such as golf, rowing, sailing, fishing, cycling, walking, surfing etc.
Contact the owner if house Mimosa is not free on the dates you request, we have another identical rental available.
To play golf, the Mimizan Golf course is in front of the house. The entrance to the course is 100 m away. The prices for the course (9 or 18 holes), the courses of a pro and the driving-range are very reasonable.
The Nautical Base only 300 m. behind the house on the edge of Lake Aureilhan offers possibilities for sailing, rowing or canoeing. For fishermen: the lake has a good reputation for carp fishing; in some areas you can swim in the clear water of the lake and a walk on the beautiful Route Fleurie is recommended.
For cycling: a pretty cycle path along the road passes in front of the house. By following this track through the dunes you can pedal to the beaches of Mimizan-Plage or to other villages in the region.
The origin of Mimosa house dates from 1910. The Duke of Westminster, close to the English royal family, built Woolsack Castle, surrounded by staff quarters and stables for horses, on a large estate in Mimizan on the edge of Lake Aureilhan. All built in typical South African style architecture.
Maison Mimosa is one of the Château's former stables. In the 1980s of the last century, the stables of the time were transformed into individual houses, preserving their original character. The interiors of the houses have since been modernized.
Now Mimosa is a very comfortable house, well equipped and pleasantly furnished and decorated. It measures 60 m² on the surface and can accommodate 6 people in 2 bedrooms for 2 and 4 people. It has a living / dining room with modern and well-equipped kitchen and a shower room with WC. In front of the house a terrace with garden furniture and fixed BBQ in a spacious, well maintained and fully fenced garden, separated into 2 parts for Mimosa house and the Camellia semi-detached house.
Bed linen can be provided at an additional price. Pets are welcome, 1 animal is included in the rental price. For more animals a supplement may be requested.
In high season (July and August) the minimum rental period is 1 week, with arrival and departure on Saturday. In low- and mid-season short-term rentals and arrival and departure on another day of the week are possible. For heating: the house is equipped with electric radiators in all rooms. An additional price may be requested for the costs of electricity consumption during the cold period.
The ocean beaches are at Mimizan-Plage at 5 km. by car or 4 km. on bike.
With its beautiful white beaches and the clear blue water of the ocean, Mimizan-Plage is a popular seaside resort. In summer the village is very lively with musical and cultural activities every day.
In the center of Mimizan-Bourg there are all services, shops and the Friday morning market.
The pre- and post-seasons are much quieter periods, but increasingly popular, especially in September / October when the sea and land temperatures are still warm.
Day trips to the region are recommended: to the Pyrenees, Basque Country and Biarritz, the Bordeaux region and the Armagnac region.

Lovely chalet in great location, perfect for a family. Very well equipped with everything you need to cook and coffee machine was an added bonus.Lots to do nearby, short walk to lake and ten minute drive to beach.
The house has a lovely large garden (shared with another property) for the kids to run around, play, outdoor shower etc. It is located in a green area rigth next to some woods and the access road to the lake (boat/canoeing/SUP etc, but no swimming allowed - i still went out on some great morning swims). The lake is quite beautiful and you can run/walk around on a very nice path (ca 14km). A larger road is just outside the property and you will hear the cars, but our kids were louder during the day and the traffic is quieting down in the evenings. A golf course is on the other side of the road hence the wide and green outlook from the property. The evening sun sets on the terrace.
The house has everything you need including 4 bunk beds and a comfortable double bed in the other bedroom. We used the barbecue almost every day. The property was very clean when we arrived.

Tolle Unterkunft
Schönes Haus, gut ausgestattet, tolle Lage, empfehlenswert
Wunderschöne Lage direkt am See.
