About the host
Hosted by Sykes Holiday Cottages

Built in the late 18th century, Ecclerigg Old Farm offers comfortable holiday accommodation in any season. One of a small cluster of former farm buildings, the farmhouse sits well back from the road, mid-way between Ambleside and Troutbeck Bridge. This is an excellent base for a walking or touring holiday with all of central Lakeland easily accessible by car or bus.
The National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole is just a short stroll away from where lake cruises can be taken on beautiful Lake Windermere. The grounds are open all year and there are footpaths down to the lake. There is also a seasonal teashop and many interesting activities for visitors with a published programme of events and exhibitions. There are several hotels close by where you can eat out in style without using the car. Ambleside and Windermere have excellent local shopping. Buses stop at the end of the drive.
Accommodation: Rear door into spacious entrance area - lots of room for storing your outdoor gear. Downstairs wc with basin. Breakfast kitchen and separate utility room. Cosy beamed sitting room with feature stone wall and open fire (TV, DVD, CD player & free wi-fi broadband). Door to porch and garden. Separate dining room with some extra, comfy seating and a second TV, ideal for quiet relaxation.
Stairs from the sitting room to the first floor where there are four bedrooms - the master double is en-suite (bath, basin and wc), good sized twin bedroom with extra single bed, second twin room and single bedroom. Further bathroom with shower, basin and wc.
There are pleasant outlooks from all the main windows - some over fields and a neighbouring garden, others to the 'farmyard' behind the property. The cottage is comfortably furnished and cosy with gas central heating and hot water.
Outside: Enclosed rear garden, with lawn and shrubs, accessed from the sitting room. Garden table and chairs provided. Parking for two cars (one in garage).
