Being set within a peaceful environment, Drover's cottage has been designed in sympathy with the listed farmhouse nearby, retaining oak beams and design features typical of the region's historic architecture. This cottage being a conversion from an original farm building specifically to supply the needs of the holiday maker, there is everything one could wish for to facilitate a restful, rural escape. The well-appointed kitchen area includes fridge/freezer, range style oven, washing machine and dish washer. The open plan layout of the kitchen and spacious dining and living areas gives an airy open feel whilst at the same time the wood burner encourages a snug, warm atmosphere. There are TVs with DVD players in both the lounge and bedrooms, and a generous enclosed garden with dog proof fencing, BBQ and patio area with table and chairs. Additionally, there is a covered BBQ area, ample parking and uniquely a decking area set in the middle of one of the lakes, where one can soak up the rays or watch the sunset with a gin and tonic to hand. A track runs from the back of the lakes straight on to a drove that heads off in different directions across the countryside, lovely walks and great for dogs.

The pictures do not do this cottage justice, it’s stunning we had a lovely stay over Christmas, lovely enclosed garden for the dog and lovely and open inside!
Lovely, clean and very cosy. The kitchen was well stocked and we managed to cook a full Christmas dinner. Very peaceful, saw some Roe Deer which completed our magical stay.
Attractive, comfortable, well equipped and spacious. This was the perfect accommodation for 3 adults and two dogs. This was our second stay at this property and we would definitely consider staying here again.
The property was spacious, clean and comfortable. Perfect for two couples and two dogs.
The tallest in our party found the headroom a little low in places but he survived without too many knocks!
Would definitely recommend.
A lovely, wonderfully quiet place to stay, which is a necessity for the purpose of our visit to Suffolk. Our second visit, and I'm certain it won't be our last. The property is spacious, clean, comfortable, and has all that is needed. There is ample parking right next to the cottage. I honestly cannot fault it.

Perfect!
Lovely spacious cottage with dog proof garden in a quiet location. Spotlessly clean and everything & more that you could need. Lovely walks nearby such as Knettishall Heath with an abundance of wildlife.
This cottage was spotless on arrival with lots of extras provided for our stay.
Lovely enclosed private garden for the dog.
Bedrooms cozy and 2 showers and big roll top bath were great.Range style cooker was a bonus and easy to use.
Would love to return.
The apartment was very spacey and the kitchen was more than complete! The cottage is located at a farm and the neighborhood is very quiet with lots of ‘wildlife’ like bunnies, squirrels and buzzards. Fantastic!

Total Peace and quiet
A very well appointed spacious property in a great location total relaxation
the only criticism I have the internet is slow
Really couldn't fault it. We were here to visit our son's R.A.F memorial and grave in Honington and wanted peace, calm, and tranquillity, which this provided. Location is wonderful with easy access, and parking adjacent to the property. Cleanliness and facilities were all we could have hoped for. The accomodation is warm, comfortable, and maintained to a high standard throughout. Would highly recommend.
A lovely barn conversion, immaculately clean and nicely furnished. In a great location as a base to discover Suffolk and great dog walks from the doorstep. Thank you for the fresh eggs - very thoughtful. Would definitely recommend.
The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way and we had a really lovely stay.
The location was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by lovely countryside and villages. We had two toddlers and it was spacious and safe for them, with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Lots of local parks, with Banham Zoo and Bressingham Trains within 20 minutes.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything you needed to make meals, and some tea/coffee/milk was great on arrival before our food shop arrived.
Beds & bedding were very comfortable, and each bathroom had nice towels provided.
We didn’t end up taking our dogs with us but the garden would have been perfect for them being fully enclosed and there were nice walks on the doorstep.
We’d love to come back one day, there was nothing we could fault!

Super accomodation, let down by inatentive owner.
This was a superb cottage, well appointed, comfortable, warm and snug with every amenity, and good value to boot.
The stay was slightly marred in that there was no-one home to greet us on arrival and no-one home to see us out, as we would have liked to thank the owner personally for a lovely stay. I did get to speak to Sara the owner the morning after we arrived, and thank her for the fresh eggs provided, but found her a bit disinterested . Nevertheless the place was lovely and we had a very enjoyable three days. (Beware of the hot water it is scalding hot and if you use the roll top bath and run hot water in whilst sat in it you would be injured and a child would be badly hurt. The thermostat needs to be turned down on the cylinder.)
Lovely barn conversion with walks from the doorstep.
We found this lovely, comfortable barn conversion in a good location with walks from the doorstep across fields to stumble across some lovely, old villages.
The barn provided everything for our needs throughout with a great garden space for dogs. We found it very peaceful and will be looking to book again.
The only problem we had was to access the link to message the host re. checking in procedure.
A fabulous clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation with everything you could need. We have now spent dozens of long weekends at different dog-friendly cottages in Suffolk and Norfolk, and this one is right up there for such a beautiful setting, large dog secure garden, spotlessly clean and peaceful surroundings. Thank you for having us.
This property has been so well designed and furnished it is superbly comfortable and amazingly clean. The owner has definitely gone the extra mile by providing lots of lovely little extras. The location is peaceful, beautiful and driving around the countryside is a real pleasure. Whilst staying (during the heatwave), my mother and I decided to find some lovely dog friendly places to eat and we certainly did. The first was the Bull Inn in Bacton (great tuna steak), followed by The Anchor at Walberswick (which is right next to an all year round dog friendly beach - kiln smoked salmon on a bed of pickled mooli and capers), and lastly The Burston Crown at Burston (really lovely roast dinner, with amazing gravy).
Spacious cottage with it’s own secure garden in a beautifully calm and serene area. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others.
Drovers cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The host provided everything possible to ensure an easy stress free stay. The three bathrooms were a great bonus and all in excellent condition and the enclosed garden perfect for dogs. A perfect peaceful getaway!

About the host
Hosted by Sara Fyfe
Since moving to Suffolk from the Fens of Cambridgeshire we have always wanted to find ways of using and preserving the lovely old farm buildings at North Hall farm which surround our lovingly restored listed farmhouse. Creating holiday homes from some of these barns will maintain their active life whilst at the same time allowing a greater number of people to experience the tranquility and peace of this most beautiful of rural-English locations. As we both come from a farming heritage moving away from the countryside was never an option once we were no longer farming, and developing opportunities at our new location helps us achieve our aim of the rural life we both so enjoy. We have aimed to create a holiday destination which will give the visitor an insight into the delights of living in this unique corner of the British countryside, and sincerely hope that you will enjoy your stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you to your restful country retreat.
Why they chose this property
In the conversion of the stables and the old dairy into holiday cottages, we have striven to create holiday homes which offer everything we ourselves would look for in an English countryside destination. The cottages are purpose built as holiday homes and as such the layout, design and functionality of the properties are ideally suited to your needs. At the same time, we have maintained a sympathetic approach to the original design and location of the cottages. The results are living spaces with a traditional look and feel, but which incorporates all mod-cons. From the restful, peacefully located cottage, one is in easy reach of much of East Anglia and its attractions, whilst there are a host of excellent restaurants and watering holes nearby. The area is a joy for the cyclist or walking enthusiast. Country lanes are not too hilly or challenging, and there are many little woods and corners for the perfect picnic spots. Despite the peace and isolated feel of the location the properties are easily reached by road or rail, making them ideal for a weekend getaway.
What makes this property unique
The cottage enjoys fabulous views over rural landscape, and peace and quiet on a level rarely found in today's world. Hostlers and Drovers are surrounded by meadows and ponds and are set at the end of a tree lined driveway over 250 yards from the nearest public road. This isolated setting means it is not unusual to witness deer, rabbits, a wide variety of birds and other wildlife at the site. Outside there is a semi-covered BBQ area and a decked seating area on the pond. Free range eggs are available from our own hens, and much other local produce is easily obtained locally, including organic produce. Light pollution levels are very low and sitting outside of an evening gazing at the stars is a particular delight.
