Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
Town: The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Lovely location and big enough for 4 adults.Well furnished and plenty of kitchen equipment. Good to have two parking spaces. Plenty of hot water for showers.
Clean, well equipped kitchen, comfortable and pet friendly. Excellent, quiet location.Unfortunately the agents were not very responsive when we had a problem with the shower
The property was ideally situated for us to access the local beach and surrounding areas.
The house was presented well, clean, warm and cosy and had everything we needed.
It is our second visit as we came here in 2021 and looked forward to revisiting.
Beautiful cottage. There are several buildings. I presume these were farm outbuilding that have been converted to a high standard. They are opposite Budle bay which is brilliant for bird watching and walking the coast path to Bamburgh castle etc. The only problem we had was finding the cottage, it was advertised at 9 Budle sands, but then the sign on the front of the cottage said 9 Dunlin Cottage. The signs needs updating. We used the ocean club pool which was a 20meter pool and quiet at teatime. Quite expensive though. Everything had been thought of in the cottage and labelled well, even down to the safety torches and fire safety equipment. We would definitely visit the area again and had a lovely holiday
