About this property

Gite attached to 15th Century Manor with heated pool and fishing lake

Dating back to the 15th Century and steeped in history, the manoir, gites, lake and woodland originally belonged to the overlooking chateau.
Today at Gites La Vallee, we offer two well equiped, 3 bedroom, self-catering holiday cottages. Outside you will find a 10 x 5 metre heated outdoor swimming pool (open mid May to end of September) with retractable abri cover, fishing lake, a children's play area and around seven acres of grounds - including garden and woodland to explore.
The gites have been renovated from the original granite barns. Each gite has its own particular character and charm, with many of the original oak beams and stonework features retained. Both have all modern conveniences, including dishwasher and washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, flat screen TV with French TV and UK Freesat, DVD, bluetooth audio system, free wi-fi, charcoal BBQ and individual outdoor dining areas.
Downstairs both gites have a kitchen area with dining table, separate lounge area with settees. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with two single beds. Each bedroom has a wardrobe. There is a full bathroom with bath and overhead shower, wash basin and toilet. There is a further separate toilet.
The indoor games room features a pool table, table football and dart board. There is a ping pong table under cover outside the games room.

A wonderful stay

We stayed at La Gite Vallee for a week and had a wonderful time. The gite was well equipped and really nicely laid out, the surrounding landscape is immaculate and the pool is beautifully kept. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful too. Location-wise, the cottages are perfectly situated to drive to supermarkets or visit nearby towns on market days. We will definitely return.

Fabulous gite

Beautiful gite in lovely grounds with lake and ducks, swimming pool and games room. Everything was spotless, and Jo and Nick friendly and helpful. We were only there for 4 days, but with so much to keep us all entertained, wished we could have stayed for longer....next time we will!

Great holiday cottage in beautiful setting.

We loved our stay in "Le Puits" cottage near the village of Plumaudan. The cottage was very comfortable & clean. The leisure facilities catering for the whole family were superb with a very well equipped games room and a fantastic all weather swimming pool. The cottage is set in countryside but it's not isolated as not very far from the village. There is a lake with use of a little boat which the children particularly enjoyed. We definately recommend this holiday cottage and hope to return soon.

Lovely Place

We had a wonderful time at La Vallee .Jo & Nick were extremely hospitable & friendly making us feel very welcome. We stayed in Le Puits & the gite was extremely well appointed with everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. The grounds are well kept, with a lake, woods, courtyard gravelled patio areas and a new pool area with terracing, seating & sun loungers.The pool was heated with a removable cover which meant whatever the weather we could use the pool. There was also a well stocked games room which the children loved & lots of outdoor games equipment too. The location is perfect with Dinan, Dinard, St Malo & some very lovely beaches only 1/2 hours drive away. All in all we had a great time & would definitely recommend this property for a holiday in beautiful Brittany.

What a great place to stay. On site facilities are so good, not just for children either.

The Gites are located less than 10 minutes from Dinan. 30 minutes from Dinard. Both great places to spend a day or two. Want a rest day? Stay on site, the facilities are great for adults and children. We had a fantastic week. My eldest son enjoys fishing. He had a great three days fishing the lake. Thanks Nick, it made his holiday. 35 Carp to 20lb, average about 12lb. My sons daughter really enjoyed the pool and children’s play area. Grandad (me) was exhausted keeping her amused. The ladies enjoyed sunbathing and relaxing. Nick & Jo were great hosts making a lot of effort to make sure there guests enjoy their stay.

A perfect Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. It has everything you could ask for. The pool was amazing with its cover and you could help yourself to all the swim materials ie. Inflatables/ floats etc and the numerous outside seating areas are a luxurious touch. Jo has thought of everything. It's not too far from Dinan and St Malo and we love staying in the quiet countryside so perfectly situated. Plumaudan itself has a quaint bar/ coffee shop and a small grocery so we enjoyed the cycle into the village with the free use of the bicycles. We will definitely return.

Magnifique lieu

Bonjour Ce lieu est absolument magnifique avec un environnement paradisiaque pour se dépayser. Il y a tous les équipements nécessaires dans les gîtes et pour les loisirs pour petits et grands. Les propriétaires sont vraiment accueillants et souriants, avec une volonté de vous offrir de belles vacances. Je recommande.

Un séjour au paradis

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans le gîte de Jo et Nick. Tout a été pensé pour que l’on se sente comme à la maison. Il ne manque rien. Le gîte est très confortable et idéal pour des vacances en famille (salle de jeux avec baby foot et billard, jeux de société, Ping Pong et surtout une magnifique piscine!). L’emplacement est idéal pour les visites et très calme. Encore merci à Jo et Nick pour leur accueil et pour leur gentillesse.

Buitengewoon vakantiehuis in Plumaudan

Zeer fijne ontvangst door de gastheer en gastvrouw en ideaal vakantiehuis voor gezin met kinderen. Veel te doen maar met nodige privacy en rust. Boottochtje op visvijver is een aanrader. Het Zwembad is zalig en er is een leuke gameroom, trampoline en schommel voor de kids...

Beautiful gites, perfect hosts!

We are a family of five from Sweden who really enjoyed our week at Gites de la Vallee! The gites are beautiful, so is the garden, buildings and surroundings. The pool area is perfect for us, and so is the location, close to beautiful cities and historic sites. The closest town, Dinan, was a really nice surprise with it´s medevial city-center, the river and lots of restaurants. Our hosts were very kind and we got the best service. We are impressed that there are so much to do at the estate; dart, table-tennis, games, bicykles to borrow, books, movies, toys for the pool, everything one could wish for! We would love to come again and will absolutely recommend Gites de la Vallee!

We bought this property, Gites La Vallee, in 2016, already a successful gite business and fishing lake for over 10 years. I am a qualifed Body Control Pilates teacher , having run my own classes successfully in Kent, UK, for several years - so we will be looking to add this to our repertoire some time in the future.

Why they chose this property

We knew this was an ideal holiday location, having holidayed in France and here many times ourselves. Medieval Dinan, good food, uncrowded roads, friendly locals, picturesque towns and villages, beautiful coastline and beaches - who could ask for anything more.
We are on the outskirts of a small village, Plumaudan, with its own boulangerie, bar tabac, mini market and pharmacy, Close to medieval Dinan with its many shops, restaurants and leisure activities. Not forgetting the beautiful port area.
Airport at Rennes and, our nearest port, the picturesque town of St Malo, both around 30 minutes away. It is a great place for walking, cycling and fishing and just a short drive away, there are many unspoilt sandy beaches and rocky coves to suit everyone.
