About this property

Ty Bont Cottage - Two Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 5

Ty Bont is a pretty cottage situated in Capel Curig, with great road links just off the A5 in the heart of Snowdonia with spectacular Cyfyng Falls across the road. Near to the popular town of Betws y Coed and surrounded by mountains, this is an excellent base for exploring the whole of North Wales and a cosy retreat upon your return.

A pretty and comfortable cottage, Ty Bont sleeps up to five people in two bedrooms. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom, and a twin-room, which also has a trundle bed that pulls out. There is also a cot available for an infant. A functional family bathroom, with bath, shower-over, WC and washbasin. On the ground floor, the open plan living space includes a kitchen-diner and lounge, which has an open fireplace. The cottage has WiFi, a TV with Freeview and DVD player, and bed linens are provided. The property is dog-friendly, and welcomes up to 2 dogs. Outside, there is a garden and car parking space comes with the cottage. There is also an EV charging point, charged at £35 per stay, which you can request upon booking.

Capel Curig is a small mountain village with a big reputation. All self-respecting outdoor enthusiasts will have heard of Capel Curig. The mountains in North Wales are its raison d’être. The village stands in a crucial fork in the road. Go north-west along the A5 Nant Ffrancon Pass and you’re into the glacial wildernesses of the Glyders and Carneddau, with the triangular peak of Tryfan – a siren not to be tackled lightly – looming above the waters of Llyn Ogwen. Go south-east and you’re soon at the foot of Yr Wyffa (Snowdon) and the boulder-strewn Llanberis Pass, where legendary rock climbers like Joe Brown and Don Whillans cut their teeth, and the team that first conquered Everest trained. Brown then famously opened his shop selling outdoor gear in Capel Curig in the late 1960s, and it’s still going strong today.
