Separate entrance with its own front door, the self-contained 65-sq-metre (700-sq-ft) Garden Apartment consists of two double bedrooms , a sitting room, a separate kitchen and shower WC room. It has direct access from kitchen and sitting room to a private outside space and to the amazing 250 sqm walled gardens, a peaceful and safe oasis shared only with the owners Nic and Ben and their doggie Bruno.
The garden has several areas.
The terrace with subtropical planting ,BBQ area, etc, large table with 8 chairs,
English garden with sundowner bench with Mexican oven, day sun bed, swing chair, the planting is a mix of english and Mediterranean plants and high beds for veggie and fruit
The ponds garden features a pond with 5 rescue turtles, a variety of fish, chicken garden house, zen wildlife zone incl. hammack,. In total the gardens have 8 different sitting areas and hundreds of temperate, mediterranean and subtropical plants from all over the world.

The apartment itself It has free high speed broadband, multichannel tv,stereo hairdryer, safe, etc.

The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, nespresso coffeemachine, fridge, kettle, oven, microwave and espresso/filter coffee machine and iron/ ironing board.

The sitting room features a leather sofa bed that can accommodate two additional guests.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with queenside bed, the other one has a superkingsize bed which can be arranged to 2 twin beds,

Delightful and homely

We loved staying here, and very close to Stockwell train station allowing us to have easy transport to all the attractions in London. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and we adored the garden, doggies and seeing turtles in the pond. 5/5 for this beautiful little home.

This was a very homey stay in the heart of london. There was easy access to the city with buses and a tube station a short walk away. The apartment was equipped with everything you need. We made dinner in the kitchen several nights and there was all the equipment we needed. The space definitely felt lived in, but it was reasonably clean and comfortable. Clean towels and sheets. I stayed with my husband and our three young children and it was just enough space for our family.

Perfect for our Needs

This charming property was exactly what we needed for our U.K. girls trip. Comfy and clean beds. Well accommodated kitchen. Small grocery store directly across the street. Lovely back garden for a nice respite. 10 minute walk to the nearest Tube station. Our younger girls loved LONDON so much and cannot wait to return.

Great stay and the host was very informative/responsive. The space needs a refresh (e.g., the leather couch was torn) including a deep clean, and some touch-up painting. Main bedroom is newer and felt fresh. Kitchen and sitting room needs some TLC.

First Timers in London (with teen and grandpa)

We stayed just over a week in the garden apartment and it was so wonderful! My daughter (13) and my father and I enjoyed the cozy, relaxing space of the apartment after days of traveling to central London and beyond. It truly felt like a home away from home. We found it easy to get to bus or tube stations (less than 10 minute walks) to get anywhere we wanted. Loved the tranquility of the private garden. The host was very helpful and generous! He offered great suggestions and guidance for our stay. Also was quick to accommodate with any needs we had pop up. We also could easily get groceries or other necessities from the numerous stores either located across the street or near the tube station. Highly recommend this apartment for a stay in London! Everything met and went beyond our expectations!
Loved we could hop on a bus and quickly get to some of the iconic sights of London!
We are dog people and we loved to get to meet our host pups!

Eine knappe Woche waren wir bei Nic and Ben in ihrer wunderbaren Wohnung. Der Garten ist so schön und wenn man den ganzen Tag unterwegs war, findet man hier die perfekte Entspannung. Entspannt sind Nic und Ben auch, sie rücken einem nicht auf die Pelle, sind aber immer ansprechbar. Die Lage der Wohnung konnte für uns nicht besser sein; in wenigen Minuten bei der U-Bahn und zügig 'im Geschäft '. Das Viertel ist ein sicheres Wohnviertel, abends nach hause zu kommen, ist überhaupt kein Problem. In der Nähe gibt es einen Markt und auf der anderen Strassenseite direkt einen kleinen Supermarkt. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit hier!

Nuestro viaje ha sido muy satisfactorio gracias al alojamiento, es la primera vez q visitamos Londres y no conocíamos la ubicación, pero he de decir que stockwell green está muy bien comunicado a través de la línea Victoria. La experiencia ha sido muy gratificante y el alojamiento estupendo. Nos ha faltado poder disfrutar de los jardines de la casa por falta de tiempo y pq hacia mucho frío y dentro de la casa se estaba muy calentitos. Darle las gracias a los anfitriones, todo estaba ok. En la época de Navidad Londres está precioso pero hace mucho frío y llegar a casa y encontrarse con una temperatura tan cálida se agradece. Volveremos, sin duda

Handy location great for a getaway

Ben was always helpful and prompt in communication. This garden suite has two bedrooms, a comfy couch and full kitchen which was great for our group when visiting. We were able to pack in a lot as it was so close to the city (it seemed like we were 20mins away from all the hot spots).

Great place, great location, amazing hosts :)

We loved our stay at the Griffin House! There were four of us and the flat was well laid out for it. The hosts were so kind to set the place up for us as we came in late. The gardens are exceptional. The location is very convenient. There is a co-op 5 minute walk but if you prefer a well equipped store just across the street! The Stockwell station is a 10 minute walk and gets you right into the City Center for the sites. Brixton proper is maybe a 15 minute walk where you will find a very active area with all kinds of things to explore. Kitchen was well equipped and the shower was great. Highly recommend :)

Place was nice

The property was nice, backyard was great (we didn't use it much). The couch could use an update it's old and not very comfortable and the photos show what we assume are other rooms in the house that weren't part of the basement suite we were in. The hosts were easy to get ahold of when we needed towels or to replace sheets. Overall the stay was fine, it was further out from everything they wanted but if you like to explore and take the tube it's a good location.

Dear Alexandra, Thank you for your review. We appreciate you saying that our Garden Apartment was nice and the location good for exploring London. However we are disappointed you only thought us worthy of just three stars (this is the lowest rating we have ever received - we have 95 percent 5 star reviews and the rest are four stars). We would like to address the issues you raised in your review. Firstly, and most importantly all the photos on the listing are pictures take of the rooms of the garden apartment and of our garden . The only picture which has to be updated (this will be done in the next days) is the picture of the master bedroom where we replaced the kingsize bed with a superking size bed (which can be arranged as 2 single beds). Secondly the sofa. This is a sofa bed and is very comfortable, both to sit on and to sleep on. It maybe that when it is used as a bed by a heavier than average individual it does not feel as solid as a regular bed, however for most people of average height and weight this is not an issue. Thirdly our location. Your review states it was further out than you expected. In fact we are located in inner south central London - zone 2 on the tube map. It is about 7 minutes walk to 3 different tube stations. From these it is a 10 minutes tube ride to most of the major tourist attractions. Perhaps you would have been better to go for accommodation in zone one, which is obviously closer to most sights, though you would miss out on being in a vibrant neighbourhood such as ours, and would pay double or triple the rate we charge! Lastly we really appreciate your feedback (though three stars seems a little harsh) and are always looking at ways we can improve our guests' experience with us. Reviews such as yours ensure that we are kept on our toes and do our utmost to ensure our guests have a five-star experience!

Perfect location!

Just a few minutes from the Stockwell station, this beautiful home served 6 friends and family members absolutely wonderfully. We were very happy with the flat and all the amenities it came with. If we ever come back to.London, hopefully this house is available. Also, Bruno is ADORABLE!!!
