Villa Veli Varos is situated in the namesake neighborhood, one of the oldest and the most picturesque parts of Split, the city founded 17 centuries ago by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. We are only 200 meters from the Diocletian's Palace and Split's old town, both listed on the UNESCO's World Heritage list. This a great property. Safe neighborhood. Apartment is in a great location close to the waterfront and Diocletiams palace. Easy check in and out. Very clean and had e everything you need for a great stay
We had an awesome stay in Split. Espacilly the Apartment of Marina was really beautyful and really good located in the old town of Split. Close by was a really good restaurant. Thanks to Marina and her team
Had a wonderful stay in Split in the Villa. Great location, amenities, wonderful host. Marina made to booking, arrival and departure process easy. She was super responsive to general question and with advice on things to do. Highly recommend staying here.
The villa is situated in the old town. Very convenient to walk everywhere in Split to explore. Marina was very accommodating. She allowed us to check in early and had everything ready. She even left us milk and coffee. She is very knowledgeable and sent me information on sites and ferry times etc. There is a supermarket and bakery just outside the property. An even larger supermarket just round the corner. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This is a charming property that comfortably accommodated a family of five adults. Located in the center of Old town, the sights, restaurants and arts were just minutes away. In fact, one of the best meals we had in Croatia was at the restaurant next door. Marina was a responsive host and communication was easy. We only stayed two nights, but hope to return and would stay here again.
We traveled with our adult children to Dubrovnik, Split, and Zagreb. This was our favorite apartment we stayed in during this trip. The home was clean, great location, and had everything we needed for a great stay. Martina was a gracious and responsive host. The neighborhood is quiet, very close to the promenade, and walkable to great restaurants, shops, and excursions we took. One item to note, there are 4 levels in the house with a staircase between them. We loved it, but it could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. I highly recommend this property and we would stay here again if we come back to the beautiful town of Split.
This is a great apartment, right inside the Split city walls. We could walk everywhere in the old town. Warning: car parking is a ways away if you are driving, and no cars are allowed in the old town. Lots of steps, steep steps, in this apartment. And no soap for hand washing. Left-behind soap in the showers. Otherwise, a great place.
Everything worked well. Arrived late, but had not problem checking in. Close to the center of old town. Great building next to hip restaurant and night spot, but quiet inside. Beautiful kitchen and bathrooms.
Cozy, charming stone house on the border of the beautiful old town, yet close to everything. Possibility of leaving your luggage if you arrive before check-in time.
Grocery store, ATMs, pharmacy are 20 meters away. Continue east on Plinarska/Teutina street and you will find Teatrino Restaurant (40 meters away from the house) great place to eat.
Thank you Marina :)
Great location, clean , new apartments and large enough for all 10 of us. Such an historic area and beautiful location. Wish we could have stayed longer.
It can be summed up in one word…Wow! The home is so well done and so well equipped. Close to all of the sites to see downtown and old town. Love our quick trip to Split. Wish we had more time to stay when we come back we are staying here again!!
we used the studio and the 3 bedroom unit for our group of 7 ... great location ... fabulous restaurant, Ciri Biri Bela next door ... Marina was the best hostess ever!!!
This property is perfectly located. An ancient stone house, which has been expertly brought into the 21st Century, with plenty of electrical outlets everywhere, and recessed lighting, somehow expertly inserted into the stone walls, as well as a great kitchen. The owner, Marina, was very nice, and the overall experience was perfect. I will stay at that house, again, when I'm next in Split.
Perfect location - 5 minute walk to the city center.
Great old stone house. Clean. Super convenient. Modern furnishings. Perfect size for the 6 of us. Plenty of bathroom space. Marina was charming and helpful. Might not be a good choice for young children or older folks because of the fairly steep stone stairs . Would absolutely recommend to friends. Lovely experience all around.
We rented all levels of this apartment for 5 women traveling together. Great set up for us! The recent remodel was thoughtful done with lots of nice lighting touches, two typically cozy Euro bathrooms and one LARGE bathroom. We had a van for day trips and the off street parking was just down the street. It's a busy lot but we always found a spot.
You are just within the pedestrian zone so not far to bring luggage yet an easy walk into the Riva and the rest of old town.
Highlights for us were an historic walking tour (worth it!), walk up to the high point in Marjan park ( not far and a great view). Two great meals at Fig and Ciri Biri Bella/ Cucina Mare which are right next door to the apt. Probably the best meal we had in our entire trip!
Marina was very responsive and helped with information and ready replies to any questions we had. It was a pleasure to stay there and we highly recommend.
