House was perfect for hosting a family. Loved being in Montreat: hiking, visiting Black Mountain and Asheville, and seeing the fall colors. Would certainly return to this home!
Great vacation with family! House was clean, well maintained, and is in a beautiful location. Bill was also super helpful throughout the week and answered any questions we had. If we ever visit Montreat again this is definitely a place we’d look at.
We had a wonderful time in this rental! The house was spacious; everything was very clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked. We really enjoyed the view of the woods from the back deck. Very convenient location!
We loved our week in the little blue house! It was perfect for our family with excellent space and everything we needed in the kitchen and living areas to feel at home (great cooking tools, games, and more!) The porch is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee, ice cream with friends, or doing a little work. This will stay at the top of our list for our next Montreat visit!
Wonderful deck and quiet retreat. Road to the house is narrow and only works for one car. Had to back up leaving twice. Not a big problem but something to be aware
I've stayed in this location for 3 years in a row and will sign up for a 4th year, too! It's clean and has everything I need to feed lots of hungry summer staffers every night. The deck in the trees is beautiful and peaceful. There are great hiking trails right in the back yard. It's just perfect for us. Bill is a great host - very responsive and attentive. I'm very grateful for my Montreat time at this special place. Thank you, Bill!
We made a last-minute trip to Montreat over 4th of July. What a great decision. I've been to Montreat many times in the past but not recently. I've forgotten how special this place is. This property added to our enjoyment. The property is secluded with a forested back deck with countless song birds in the forest. Out the front door leads to hiking trails up the the Seven Sisters Ridge. The house was clean and spacious and felt like home. Thanks to the host for allowing us to stay in this special slice of WNC.
Such a beautiful location!! We loved staying here. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was super well stocked for cooking. Plenty of beds for multiple families and all of our kids. Loved it here!

We are regular visitors to this area. This was our first time to stay here and we've found our place. First, it just feels like a home, not a rental house. But the most amazing thing was the cleanliness! Oh my! Impeccable! My husband was a manager in a luxury hotel in Atlanta and is very picky about these things. He was blown away by how clean it was. Also, it's well stocked, and tucked back in a beautiful neighborhood. I have nothing but praise for our accommodations. Thanks for such great hospitality.
We have stayed in many homes in Montreat over the past 50 years and this was the best house we have stayed in. It felt like it was designed just for us! We loved cooking food together in the fully-appointed kitchen and eating and playing games at the dining room table. The basement is comfortably finished with it’s own family room. It was great for us, as a three-generation family, because everyone had a space to themselves. There were lots of games and movies. We also loved waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee while sitting on the back porch swing and listening to the birds. It’s a short walk to several trailheads. Wonderful home! We hope to come back year after year!
Our time at this home was absolutely fantastic. I agree with the other reviews that the pictures don't do this place justice. It was perfect for our family get together. There was a master bedroom on the ground floor for those who have problems with stairs, there was a basement suite for one couple, and rooms upstairs for the rest of the family. The owner was proactive in seeing to our needs. Our family loved hiking the trail that was right outside our door. We were close enough to town to visit easily, or we could just remain at home and spend a wonderful day in the mountains.
It started snowing the evening we arrived, great. The next morning we woke up to a blanket of snow and it continued all throughout the day. We wished we could have used the fireplace but we understood it's probably about safety. There were "tons" of puzzles to put together(we completed 3/500pcs, dvds, vhs, boardgames, books, etc I normally bring the items on our outings. We left most of stuff in the bags. Nicely designed interior. We were able to view kitchen area from dining table. Only one issue if you difficulty walking be extra careful a slight downhill gravel incline from parking to the house. I'm a shaky leg grand and I made it. Overall we like being close to lake susan you could walk there and you didn't need a fishing license at this time the lake hadn't been stocked in 2 years. The babbling brook in the backyard, the kiddies were hiking and exploring regularly. Didn't do any fishing because of weather all the grands are 6 and younger didn't want them getting ill. Lake tomahawk was near, all was enjoyable. Will is an excellent host they really made it a homey place.. may try another visit in future, God willing.
We enjoyed our stay. The property was perfectly appointed. We had everything we needed. We had more than enough space for our family of 5. The location was perfect for hiking. We could even walk from our property to nearby trails. The owner was very kind and responsive.
Thanksgiving in the mountains--it doesn't get much better.
The house was spotless and had everything we needed. The house fit us perfectly for sleeping, although the kitchen is a bit tight, so we took turns😊. I liked that there are no TVs in them bedrooms! No T-Mobile phone service, but that was just fine with me. The kids had WiFi for their various devices.
It was a beautiful spot to stay for amazing fall colors , close to town but quietly tucked away for privacy plenty of room for our whole family to relax
