Lovely holiday home

We had a wonderful week at River View. The weather wasn’t great and the fishing was really hard, but that’s river fishing for you, very unpredictable. We sat every day at the bottom of the garden being very comfortable with the fishing set up, more than enough room for two people, and we have a lot of gear between us! The dogs loved it too although we did take a 12 meter roll of fencing and some stakes so they couldn’t get near the water’s edge. It worked so well we were asked by both sets of neighbours where we got it from! They just happily played and slept whilst we fished. The accommodation is wonderful, very spacious and immaculately clean. We took two cheap king size fitted sheets from Asda to put over the sofas to protect them from dog hairs so we didn’t have to worry if they got on them whilst we were fishing, The view was amazing. We also appreciated the shed and bait fridge, and loved being able to drive onto the property, and have room to turn around the car, plus once the gates were shut, you felt very secure. You could easily park four cars there. All in all one of the cleanest and nicest properties we have stayed in, especially when you consider it is dog friendly. NHL deserve all the praise they get.

Home from home

We had another fabulous stay with Norfolk holiday lodges, our 7th, with more booked. River view is beautiful. It's has everything you could need apart from a washing machine and a 3rd bedroom for when the family tag along, but that's just my preference. The lodge is bigger than we expected, very spacious, especially the kitchen. It has plenty of cupboard space for food and supplies. Cleaning is always as expected, perfect, with plenty of products to last the holiday. We had very high tides a couple of days with flooding onto the lawn but the lodge was safe and warm. We did have swans paddling in the garden which was great to watch. Thank you to Tina for coming to my rescue with wellies until mine arrived the next day. She did message and warn us about the flooding so we were almost prepared. It didn't affect our stay at all in fact it was a fun highlight. We use a farm shop a few miles down the road at Blofield. Its called Norfolk camping and leisure. Its expensive but delicious. Worth every penny. We also use New world chinese takeaway in the village. The fishing this year has been a bit of a disappointment, but its not just Brundall. Hopefully it will start to pick up soon. We did see plenty on the camera, just not biting. But it won't put us off Brundall. Counting the days to our next journey home!

A superb week.

We had what was probably our best UK holiday ever at River View during a week in August this year. The cottage is very well appointed with comfortable furnishings throughout and a kitchen equipped with quality appliances. The pictures tell it all and what you see on the website is what you get for real. The location is perfect with easy access to numerous places of interest including Norwich just 6 miles away. There are many eating places within a short drive although we chose to eat in most nights, just for the sheer pleasure of dining out beside the river, Whether fishing or just sitting watching the boats go by the week was incredibly relaxing and for us the perfect holiday Thanks to Norfolk Holiday Cottages and in particular Tina for a worthy week on the Broads.

Disappointed

multi fuel burner not working we had no notification of this. We felt the decking was not very secure as we have a small dog.The heating was not very clear to operate and the towel rail was not working.

2nd time in River View

We have stayed in a number of Brundall lodges over the years, some better than others. After a dreadful experience a couple of years ago, we discovered Norfolk Holiday Lodges and stayed in River View for the first time last year. My, how they have upped the ante! I doubt we would consider staying with anyone else now. Everything in River View is of the highest quality and colour co-ordinated and every thought has gone into what you could need for a week's self catering holiday. We did venture out a few times while we were away, but couldn't wait to get back 'home'. I think that says it all. Tina, who manages the lodges is a credit to the company and we can't wait to visit again next year.

Perfect accommodation and location

You can never be 100% sure what you will find when arriving somewhere new, in spite of how much research you do but River View exceed our expectations, both on the accommodation and location fronts. Everything was clean and well maintained and the view from the lounge through the patio doors was amazing, especially at sunset. Fishing was comfortable from the decking area at the bottom of the garden. Train station and pub within a 5 minute walk and a Co-op a 20 minute walk. Booked again for next year, while we were still there.

Perfect for us.

The location and amenities were perfect for me. I brought my small fishing boat (4m) and launched in the marina. Put the trailer in the garden securely for the next 13 days. Moored the boat at the end of the garden and everything was set for a lovely relaxing holiday. The bait shed has a fridge with a freezer compartment which was very handy. I also took the opportunity to have my boat engine serviced at marine power in Brundall so it was also very handy for that. Some beautiful pictures of sunsets and the location generally. Great holiday for me my wife and the dogs.

Amazing Stay

This property was just amazing. We have stayed at properties in Brundall before with a different company and were not sure what to expect from Norfolk Holiday Lodges. This property exceeded our expectations on every level. It is so clean and well equipped. It is even better in reality than the photos on the website. Ideally placed for the train station for a 10 minute journey into Norwich. It was lovely to sit by the river with a cup of tea on an evening after a day out and watch the herons and swans as well as the boats gliding past. So peaceful. Also walking distance to the White Heron Pub where the food is excellent. Would love to return if there is availability.A real find.

A real gem by the River Yare

River View is a lovely little property which is clearly well looked after by Tina and her team. With owner occupied properties either side it is a quiet and accessible retreat alongside the river. Ideal for fishing or simply sitting and watching the world go by with a glass of wine in hand. All of the fittings from the oven, microwave, fire and television to the general furnishings are all high quality items that we would be happy to have in our own home. All in all a very comfortable lodge ideal for two or a family of four. The local area has restaurants and takeaways in the vicinity and of course Norwich is a short drive away We dined in most nights and enjoyed this great lodge to the full and will return next year. Highly recommended.

Lovely lodge

We had a great week here and the reason I have given 4 for location is that the local area for dog walking is very limited. We loved watching the river activity and the garden and decking were ideal. Tina was extremely friendly and helpful.

1st time stay at River View and we were well impressed, nice big frontage as you go through the gate, once inside the lodge it becomes clear as to why this holiday home is so popular, everything is laid out so well. living room, bathroom and bedrooms are lovely.nice outside decking area to sit and watch the world go by ( weather permitting ) great team running the site especially Tina ( manager ) and Chris the maintenance man. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved it. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Lodge

A really lovely weekend stay with my husband and 84 year old father in law. They are keen on fishing so a perfect spot to settle in one place for the stay and fish from the garden. For me I could relax, enjoy the lovely view, watch them fish and the boats go by in comfort whilst still having the luxury of the lodge at hand. Perfect! A nice warm welcoming lodge thats in excellent condition, spotlessly clean and has everything in it you would need inc some tea, coffee, biscuits, sugar, milk and cleaning basics. Appliances, accessories and furniture are of good quality and the sofas are nice and comfy. Good size bathroom with lovely large walk-in shower (the window could do with a blind/cover). Shame the heated towel rail wasn’t working as had to use the above wall fan heater for the towels to dry. Comfortable beds with lovely soft fresh bedding. All slept very well . Has a very large parking area. Received a message from Tina the owner to check all was in order and could contact her with any queries or concerns. The only downside is, if you’re staying at the lodge with intent of fishing from the garden then be prepared as when it’s high tide (which was every day we were there) the garden floods. The water covers the decking on the rivers edge and works its way back up the garden. Sadly of course this stopped the fishing and all equipment had to be removed ☹️ That decking needs raising like the neighbours to prevent this problem and could also do with some sort of anti slip protection on its surface. We had a lovely weekend and would definitely recommend a stay. Thank you
