The house sleeps up to 6 people, with a queen bed in the master, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a sofa bed with a pullout mattress on the sleeping porch. An outdoor shower provides a perfect place to rinse off after a day at the beach, and the backyard includes a gas grill and perfect setup for a casual BBQ. The house is steps away from Cape May's open air mall, which features great dining options and shopping in a quaint setting. Bike rentals are also close by, and Cape May's harbor & surrounding waters feature some of the best seafood and fishing on the east coast. The boardwalk, Congress Hall, and many other entertaining and delicious options for dinner and evening activity are all within walking distance. If an evening at home is more your speed, the house has an updated kitchen and is equipped with cable TV & high-speed internet, as well as board games for the family. At night, let the gentle sound of crashing waves lull you to sleep, and wake up rested and relaxed to another day of fun by the beach. A charming, artistically decorated cottage in a lovely setting.

The beds were very comfortable. Everything in the bathrooms and the kitchen functioned as expected. The kitchen nook was charming as were the Victorian architectural details. The house is quaint and essentially adequate, yet it has some quirks worth mentioning. While mostly minor, they need to be addressed. When ascending the steep front steps, one should be cautioned that upon opening the front door, it scrapes the floor of the sun porch, resulting in a very narrow space in which to pass through. This condition makes it difficult to enter with one’s arms full. The back entrance is hardly a viable alternative as the door is very difficult to unlock and once inside, one is faced with a tiny landing and a much steeper staircase leading to the kitchen door. Again, making loading in or out difficult. While these issues are typical of an older home, perhaps something could be done to make entering and exiting the otherwise charming little house safer and easier. Several of the table lamps did not function. The only other issue we had was with the washer in the basement that stopped working part way through at least one of the wash cycles. That said, the neighborhood is very picturesque and the location is very convenient. Many shops, restaurants, the beach and the promenade are in easy walking distance of the house. We also enjoyed the convenience of the “beach box.”
