The view from the hill house

Fantastic house & views but you need great climbing abilitiies in the house and to get to the house. Parking is a big problem & communication with the service lady as well if you don't speak Spanish. Also the bar nearby is occasionally open until 02:00 in the morning.

Fantastic accommodation in beautiful town

We had 8 wonderful days in Cristina's town house. Everything in the listing is totally accurate. Cozy when the weather was poor but a suntrap on the roof terrace too. Parking is safe & easy down the hill. Olvera is a very pretty town and worthy of investigation. Highlights for us was walking the Via Verde, visiting the Bodega Ambrosio for some excellent local wine & watching the sunset in Plaza de Pipia (50m away). The apartment interior has been carefully restored using original features and is amazing. We have enjoyed staying in many great apartments in Andalusia but this must be one of the best. Check in/out was very smooth too. We will return. Many thanks Cristina & Paco

Perfect hide-away to discover Andalusia

This is a very special place. Well, it was for us during our 4 night stay. Set near the top of the narrow streets of Olvera, with a roof terrace (well 2, really) that opens up to amazing views in all directions. Great for both breakfast and afternoon/evening lounging. It is _the_ selling point, in our opinion. Not easy to reach, limited parking space behind the church, but walking up and down the sloped streets was part of the experience I'd say. The house itself might be a little bit hard to judge on vrbo, but does very well on the inside too. Clean, and with everything in mostly the right place. Sure, the tv-corner/seating area is small and part of the main bedroom, but when visiting as a couple, this is not an issue. Ground floor has the kitchen, a sofa-bed and the dining table (which we did not use). Beds were great. Aircon present on all floors but not needed for us, at the end of september. Communication with owner Cristina was very friendly. And could be done in English. Reception in Olvera was done by Ana, also very friendly and nice, but required a bit more switching between Spanish and English. She's working on it :) Olvera itself is not the biggest town in the region and that shows when it comes to having choices for things like restaurants (only 'bar/restaurants' at walking distance and the ones at 1.5 to 2 km proved to have unfortunate opening hours, for us). The local bar we ate at was just fine though. Groceries and bread easy to find too. Enjoyed it! Thanks!

Beautiful views!

The exterior picture doesn't do it justice. It is so warm and cozy feeling when you see it in person. Old and classic! This place was perfect for us. Very small town feel and the apt is at the top of the hill. Highest point in town. Only things higher are the 16th century church and the 12th century Castle. Both next door to the apartment. (Take the tour). Beautiful views of the town and surrounding mountains from the windows. Even better views from the upstairs terraces, 360 degree views! Wow! Our favorite place on a 3 week trip through Spain! Only warnings are... Everything is on steep hills, so when you walk, you WILL be going down and up. Nothing level. Parking may not be close. And you'll need a smaller car to get close. Most of the time, we had to park at the small church lot, about a 4-5 minute hilly walk. Once, we got lucky enough to park close so it was a 3 minute hilly walk. There is no parking closer. And the bedroom is upstairs, and 2nd bedroom is one more flight of steps up. Not a place for someone who hates narrow staircases. But for us, it was worth it to get up to the outdoor terraces for the sunsets, wine, and views. Outstanding! It is classic Spanish, small Puebla Blanca Villa, rustic, but clean and has everything you need. (Clothes dried on the line on the terrace in about 2 hours) Better lighting in the bathroom is needed. As far as the town, can't say enough about the welcoming locals and the warm feelings. We will return!

Muchas gracias por tus bonitas palabras Eric. Efectivamente es un pueblecito situado en la ladera de la montaña y la casa está en lo más alto, en un barrio de callecitas peatonales. La parte buena es que allí, en el barrio de la Villa, es donde se encuentra el mayor encanto de Olvera. Esperamos que terminen las obras rápido y que podamos aparcar arriba, en la oficina de turismo que está a tan solo 150 m. Será un placer teneros de nuevo. Muchas gracias Eric

La Maison est top et nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Via verde proche super facile et magnifique paysage Visite du château et du musée juste a côté Balade dans la campagne d'Olivier. Olvera est le plus beau des village blanc car une vue a 360. Que du bonheur Vincent et Muriel

Urlaub in Olvera

Das Haus ist ein Kunststück, sehr sauber und sehr angenehm. Die Leute, die sich um das kümmern sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die lage ist auch sehr schön aber braucht man unbedingt ein Auto.
