A great place to stay in the middle of nowhere, yet just minutes away from the southern edge of the Peak District.Well equipped cottage in good condition with modern appliances etc.Lots of walks of different lengths right from the door.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It’s kind of you to take the time and very much appreciated. We hope to welcome you back again one day.
We had a weekend break in May 2025.The property is immaculate both inside and out and very well maintained. Enclosed garden presented really well. The property is surrounded by large fields, providing a peaceful setting.Would definitely stay again. My only (very small negative) is the property doesn't allow dogs upstairs, which is fine - but there is no physical barrier (door or gate) to stop a dog wandering upstairs, especially at night time.
Really well appointed and secluded property with excellent decoration and lots of nice touches for a well stocked kitchen.
It was beautifully quiet with a secure garden for our dog.
There were also some nice walks out of the door too- we all really enjoyed it and hope to come again in the future.

Thank you for your lovely review and we would of course love to see you again, you were a pleasure to host a stay for.
Whatever I say will not be good enough. We absolutely loved everything about this place. The beds and pillows are so comfy and the linen was impeccable. Its location is sublime. If you like being in the middle of nowhere without a phone signal, superb scenery and walks? then this is the place. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back. Finished to a high standard and impeccably clean you will want for nothing, other than maybe some mirrors upstairs and champagne flutes to continually toast the surrounding countryside.

Dear Tony, thank you for your wonderful review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and of course we would love to see you return at anytime.
Really lovely cottage, set in complete seclusion down a long winding road in Thorpe. Wonderfully presented and well placed for walks and days out etc in the south peaks and Staffordshire. There is a cluster fly problem which is a bit troublesome as we couldn’t open the kitchen window. I am not sure if this was seasonal. Only a small (but annoying) matter though in the grand scheme of things as the cottage is otherwise lovely.
The property was comfortable and in very good decorative order. However, we were surprised to find numerous dead flies on the majority of window sills (inside) and on the carpets. There were a number of things missing from a standard inventory. For example oven gloves, salt & pepper, only 2 partially used toilet rolls, an inadequate hoover, no broom, no hair dryer and a bizarre/insufficient supply of cooking knives. It appeared that the place had not been rented for a time or not recently prepared for guests, even though the place was clean and the bedding and towels were fine.Given it was a Christmas rental, it would have been nice to have had a welcome pack and some small decorations (eg a small tree). Finally, we were unable to contact the rental office during our stay and subsequently they confirmed that the office was office was not manned over Christmas.
