We enjoyed our stay at the Vrbo overall. The rental itself was nice and located in a quiet, great neighborhood, and we were out most of the time while making sure to be respectful and quiet during our stay. That said, a couple of things made the experience a bit uncomfortable. First, it wasn’t clear from the listing that the host lives in the unit below, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time. We definitely would not have booked had we known. Also, upon arrival, we were told that we had parked too close to the building, even though I had followed the instructions sent via text. This felt awkward and was not something I appreciated, especially as a first interaction. Also, we were about 26 minutes late checking out after a long day at Disney and unfortunately overslept. We understand that checkout times are important, but the host seemed visibly upset and mentioned that cleaners were waiting, though we did not see any when we left at 10:26 AM. I asked whether any compensation could be considered, but her response felt dismissive and unfriendly.Overall, the property itself was enjoyable, but clearer communication and a more welcoming approach would have made the stay much better, especially given the price paid and the level of accommodation we have experienced with other hosts and larger corporate hospitality companies.
